Well, if there's anything BAs like more than haze it's ABV

I wonder if they are skipping the Brite Tank for packaging now versus before (i.e. not giving it time to have sediment/haze drop out).

I actually think it's a good New England style IPA now. Whereas before I recall it being that weird in-between style, akin to Sip of Sunshine. Which is why I don't care for Sip or Fiddlehead.

I hear ya, my memory gets "hazy" sometimes too.

I might just open a brewery and make all 8% New England IPAs and sell them as limited release 4 packs of 16 oz. cans.

You're leaving yourself open to someone opening across the street making all DDH 8% New England IPAs as limited release 4 packs of 16 ounce cans.

That's fine. We'll collaborate on periodic super limited releases and charge more than usual for it.

Red Heat, Bedford: Yes, my kid plays hockey nearby, so we occasionally swing by for a beverage. They have a pretty good tap list except for the lager/pilsner game, which is often lacking unless you go to cans.

Not that Sweatshirt's pics aren't evidence enough, but Fiddlehead was one of the few quality IPAs available in the Northern Kingdom (ie Jay Peak) back when I used to travel up there and it definitely didn't start out as a hazy beer. I do find it interesting though as it has a depth of flavor versus just being OJ. Second Fiddle is juicy as well, but has the somewhat hot, syrupy flavor (not sure how to say that without making it sound bad, since I do really like the beer) presumably from the higher ABV.

    Good pictorial @Sweatshirt

I wish I had a pic of the most recent FH I just had. It was gross looking tbh and may have been the end of a keg but I think the beer is good.

Second fiddle seems like a beer from a different eon - which it is. They should can the single

I've only had the single fiddlehead IPA a couple of times, first time at Baldie's in Lakeville, MA. It was probably 2 summers ago, and it was in line with Sweatshirt's '17 picture. I didn't find it too hazy and thought it tasted like like a good old school IPA with a bit of a modern twist (mosaic hops? not even sure). I thought it was great.

Would be a little bummed if it's just another NEIPA.

And yeah, the reason I love Second Fiddle so much is it's an in-betweener, and leaning more towards the old school.

Redstone posted that they got some Battery Steele (Flume). Is this new or have they distributed down in these parts previously?

As far as I know this is their first drop in MA. I'm kinda giddy.

Picked up a 4-pack of DDH Hoppiness is a Warm Pun yesterday at Vinnin in Swampscott for $14 and change. Outstanding NEIPA for a super reasonable price. If you enjoy Moteuka, I'd highly recommend.

Love that place. I wonder what else they have in their cellar. When I was in there in December I was able to pick up a vintage bottle of Enlightenment Transcendence.

They do some amazing cellar series tastings too. There's one this Thursday, Feb. 7th with Springdale. $25 a ticket or $20 for 2+. Sounds like they'll be pouring some cool stuff.

Picked up a four pack of Oxbow’s Luppolo at Sudbury Craft Beer. Didn’t know they distributed cans to MA and certainly glad I stumbled upon it as it’ll hit the spot during the Super Bowl.
