In Spearfish, SD hitting up the three breweries.
First is Sawyer's Smoldering Scotch

 

Guinness 200th Anniversary Export Stout, 6% ABV. Pours black with a two finger tan head. Nose is malty, with toffee and chocolate. Taste is slightly sweet toffee, bitter chocolate, roast malt, with a moderate bitter close. Excellent mouthfeel, overall outstanding. Best Guinness I've had. Not bad for a 200 year old beer.

Beer #666 for me

Thinking about sticking with a few sippers today for now and the game, so I'm starting with this:



While I preferred Junie Goes Coconuts, this is surprisingly balanced and not overly sweet with the salted caramel. Very solid.

Excellent gose! Aromas and flavors of big lightly tart limes, lemon, citrus zest, orange, peach, pear, red/green apple, melon, white wine, sea salt, hay, straw, and grass; with moderate agave, wheat, cracker, white bread malt balance; light lacto funk and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Bready/grainy wheat, some lactic acid, and light salinity in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing acidic dryness, no puckering. Very flavorful/refreshing, 4.9%; never watery at all. Not overly lactic or salty. Spot on style. Just as great as the prickly pear was. Really great lime vibrancy and balanced Lacto complexity; nice malt/agave backbone against acidity. This is my 3rd pack in the last year.

Step 2: OB C-O-B IPA - stuff is growing on me and the price-point is right.

 

@beergoot - Just had to re-do the @$(&#( birdbath it's so windy. I admit it's my least favorite part of living on the Front Range (spring winds... ). Gives me Florida PTSD memories of hurricane winds once we get 40-50mph gusts... oh well. At least there's beer.
