What the fuck is happening. If we can’t walk up and get 5th then I’m going to have to blow the dust off my soapbox. It’s been begging for action but was officially retired nearly a year ago.

At this point there's only two questions that matter: 1) do 5th IPA/stout last past this line, and 2) what time is the line dispensed with? Assuming they open early, is this line persisting past 11?

 

IMO it's time the OH execs decide the true culture and direction of their business. Do they continue to sell as much beer as they can possibly produce because their private equity partners tell them they have to or do they take a page out of the Tree House model and build a culture based on great beer and loyalty? In the early days of TH, they limited purchases to 6 cans of that days release, had huge lines and sold out everyday. OH on the other hand has decided to cater to resellers and mules, set limits so high that if you don't get on line by 4am for a much hyped release you get shut out, and don't care that their beer is offered for sale for up to 5-6x the actual purchase price on facebook or sold illegally at beer stores and bars throughout NY, CT and PA for a hefty mark up. When OH throws a private party celebrating their success, the invitation list is mostly those same mules and resellers who show up to every release for the sole purpose of making money. OH is raking in the dough and cares not who ultimately drinks their beer. They would sell the same amount of beer with lower limits and build a true culture. I wish them continued prosperity. In the end......it's just beer man!!

I'm curious to know if anyone rearranged or removed some of the chairs.

 

If limits are an issue only 1-2x a year moving forward, I'm ok with that and it's a big step up.

Last week was a celebration of the mulers/ resellers as the homage to allow those guys to post the releases. This week- ie today, should have been the celebration of everyone else, and limits should have been very low so everyone could get everything imo

 

I didnt go, my buddy is there and I told him 3am was the time this year so I stepped away...

Yup it happened to several ppl - some were like 50th in line, left and came back to be 130ish or whatever LOL

I expected to wake to mayhem, but this just ain't right, fellas. If they do like last week and drop the limits at the last few cases, Ima get buck.

 

Other half has had cans available daily for some time now. Buy yourself an alarm clock and stop crying if you want the special releases.

 

Just got here. Lines jus around the corner of garnet and court.

Also just threw out a half shotgunned like whoa that was laying on the sidewalk. Classy bunch out today.

I'm kinda glad I made the decision to just go to Equilibrium today after reading this thread and the FB group. Hope whoever's there doesn't get shut out.

Yeah but this guy has his priorities straight. It’s perfectly normal to set an alarm clock at 2 or 3 am to then wait in freezing temperatures for 6-7 hours to buy beer. Duh!

 

Yeah totally agree. You want the beer? Line up at 2am like a real man.

 

Need to get this thing to triple digits by summer.


Also, LOL at anyone who feels the need to line up at 2-3AM for over priced beer - especially during winter in NY. That's fucking sad.

 

I was accused of crying just a few months ago because nobody is making me drink lactose. I needed the tough love just like I need an alarm clock.

 

I’m planning to head over at my usual 1030ish. My expectations are to get fifth and maybe scraps if anything else is left (hopefully Citra).

I get that this is a shitshow release and don’t expect to get all the beers. Now if they sell completely out before then, that is screwed up.
