man after all these years kevin is still always getting lost or left behind. i guess he now needs other half to deal with the psychological trauma of the abandonment issues he faced growing up.

I’m guessing the guy is fucking big time in the inner circle of the OH line scene, given that his friend didn’t need to post any sort of physical description / last name etc when he put out the APB in here. Sort of like saying “we lost LeBron”

So yeah...about the beer and not the drama...

Initial thoughts on 5th is that 4th is better, but, didn't do a side by side. It may develop awesome...I find myself not liking Nelson too much. There is a very herbaceous, dryness to it that I don't care for. But, it's very minor amount here and not over-powering. Hoping over the next week or two it gets juicy and drank, as 4th did.

I Miss the Old Other Half, was solid. Smooth, Dankness -- but...tastes like many other offerings, reminded me of Broccoli actually...with a bit of a less hop bite.

I skipped right over that post after reading the first sentence, in all honesty.
If somehow Kevin agrees to the next Other Half meet-up we should all be there.

I did. It's definitely good, but I can't think of anything remarkable about it. I like 4th and 5th more and I was very much on #Team4th last year.

I actually agree with @RobNewton, I Miss The Old OH is pretty unlike anything OH has put out recently. Was surprised by how big, boozy (but not syrupy), and bitter it was when cold. It did smooth out a bit when it warmed up, though, but not to the level of most of OH's current lactose-free 8% offerings. Can kinda see the comparison to Broccoli, but I've always found that Broccoli has a bit of a vanilla-y smoothness/sweetness. Hope they brew that again sometime soon, Cream of Broccoli just isn't the same.

Totally agree with you regarding 5th Anniversary, however. Good, but not great. I feel like Nelson sticks out like a sore thumb in any beer it's in, which is unfortunate as OH has been putting it in almost everything for the past 6 months. That said, it wasn't overwhelming in 5th Anniversary, and I can certainly see that beer developing into something much better in a couple weeks. Also, got my first double-labeled can. Guess OH is finally making it up to me for all the unlabeled cans I've received.

After Kevin’s most recent adventure, I’m highly skeptical he’ll be allowed to leave his house sans family on Saturday for a long while.

Come on Kevin, prove us wrong.

Just cracked a 4th, and my breakdown is as follows: 4th>5th>>3rd.

4th basically tastes exactly how remembered it tasting when it was fresh, so I'm excited to see how this develops over a month or so.

I Miss The Old Other Half is also very, very good.

For as much of a headache the release was, the juice was worth the squeeze. Nevertheless, I'm glad I only have to put up with this once a year.

If this community and other half thinks this thread gets 65k page views in 1.5 months because of the beers and line updates than they’re mistaken. TBH kinda ticked most BA’ers weren’t given golden tix to the VIP party.

No but they’re well aware of our suggestions, complaints, etc.

Anyway, I’m just playing I know most of the dudes and a lot of people who went last night. I know a bunch of the Instagram accounts we hate on, some #lynelifers.

    Don’t know kevin though.

There was a reason behind this. I posted the message right before I had to drive somewhere. By the time I got home I had received a message that he had been found. I also did not want to post his information all over the internet without permission. Plus the information that I received was very limited.

I believe he has an account here but he doesnt use it much if at all. He is more of a FB/instagram/twitter guy. I'll reach out to him to see if he wants to post here.

I hope thats not the case but I fear thats probably going to happen

God damn...what the hell could have happened where you're using verbiage like "been found" during an event with a huge turnout in conjunction with him being grounded by his wife?

Had to be alcohol-fueled, but I'm very curious as to the details.

Speaking of "alcohol-fueled," just cracked open the coffee/almond/cinnamon 5th Anniversary stout. Tastes great, but doesn't really stand out from all of the stouts they do with similar adjuncts. I held a similar stance before I even tried this beer though, so I can't say I'm surprised.

Gonna give the nod to the 4oz. pour of the banana variant that I had during the line yesterday. While expectedly boozy, it at least brought something slightly different to the table. That's all I ask for these days.
