    Hazy golden color with white cap.

    The aroma first struck me as sweet malt overlain with citrus and floral scents. It was after I read the label I realized those were due to the Kaffir lime leaves, ginger and chamomile. These scent tones are not strong by any means, rather sort of mild and very pleasant.

    Taste is medium bodied sweet grain with the citrus-floral influence present from start to finish. Rather simple flavors but well combined in a way that each complements the other. There is also a spicy element highlighted by the Belgian yeast notes of ripe yellow fruit and clove. A relaxing and pleasing combination.

    Still fighting a cold. I took yesterday off (from drinking), and I'm starting today light. I don't feel bad enough to need meds, so I think that covers it, as long as I stay hydrated.

    I brought this bottle back from London to share with the bar owner - a Cloudwater/JWB collab - “Present That’s Not Me”, a 13% Imperial Stout, BBA for 16 months:



    OMG! Aromas of bourbon sweetened raisins.

    7.6% IPA hopped with Amarillo, Citra and Mosaic.

    I love this interpretation of WC/NE fusion. It's like citrus, sweet yeasty on the initial palate and then transitions into a classic dry WC bitterness to finish that makes you want to take another sip.

    Dark depths of opaque colors make up the body; head is dense, sticky and rocky; spidery webs of foam adhering to the glass. Deep charred and roasted grain aroma; dark coffee; cocoa. Full-on bitter chocolate flavor incorporating a strong grain husk and hop bitterness. Heavy body with lots of residual sugar heft; sludgy and velvety; mild sweetness yet overall dry feel from midpoint to the finish.

    An incredibly rich and dense beer, not too sweet and fairly bitter.
