Just cracked this at 5:00 am EST after working on a batch of chilli. Going to savor this, pass out and wake up to some hot fire.

    Cheers!

Good morning BAs! Freezing rain here in NW PA so I skipped the Y. Today's literal New Breakfast Beer:

Chocolate with a hint of coffee upfront, coffee with a hint of chocolate at the finish.

I would love to have a glass of this with less than four months on it. Really good imperial stout. Cheers all!

Unexpected work cancellation (pending snow?) and a sixer of Hopslam on hand?
Yeah, you know how that's gonna go...

Day off today, AND a bonus day off tomorrow means I will have a few today! Starting with Trouble Sleep by Stigbergets while watching season 2 of The Punisher on Netflix.

Back from long walk with doggies, it was 70 degrees and overcast when we ventured out and I was overdressed in a long sleeved shirt.

Home with what was gonna be my new Sunday beer (but I filled up on Jai Alai and tacos) - New Holland’s Dragon’s Milk Reserve, “Orange Chocolate”:

Poured at 58 degrees, bottled 11-19-18, and courtesy of @Number1Framer

Black with ruby grey edges; tight tan head; very good cap retention; clarity under cap; heavy ring and moderately heavy lacing; thin legs on swirl. 4.75

Huge Orange nose that does not diminish; no bourbon. 4.25

Flavors of orange and cocoa; no bourbon; semi sweet and bitter sweet dark chocolate notes. 4.0

Medium body, silky feel, moderate carbonation; very slightly warming; dry cocoa powder/barrel finish. 4.0

Overall, lots of orange aroma and flavor; light feel for abv, like drinking an orange flavored cola; dry tongue coating with orange flavor linger; no bourbon could I find, and I would have liked more chocolate; a one trick (orange) pony that could be so much more, but certainly lives up to the advertised flavor profile. 4.0

    Cheers y’all!

It’s nice! Stigbergets are better known for IPAs, but they know the black stuff too...

I hear you - I had their “West Coast IPA” on tap at the bottle shop/pub Salt Horse last month, and the IPA was solid too. I scored it a 4.25, per my log book.

Good morning, everyone! I had to call off work because roads and weather were too nasty. So I'm relaxing at home with beer for breakfast, and eggs and toast.

The first batch of Amazing Haze they did was probably the best Swedish beer I’ve ever had, and West Coast is in steady rotation...

Clear lighter shade of gold color with diminishing white cap.

Aroma of sweet malt and floral hops with a bit of sharp hop edge.

Flavor is remarkably similar to the scent with more emphasis on the malt. Hops are present from start to finish showing more presence toward the end. Clean, refreshing flavors that meld well into a seamless whole.

Glad that I got some significant outdoor time in yesterday - looks like today's eventual outdoor activity will be shoveling snow - meanwhile I'll spend too much indoor time on the computer, and,
    drinking the beer -

Back from wonderful Norway to my boring kitchen at home.
Poured myself a Revenge of the Wakatu Worms from Uiltje brewery. Session IPA made with Wakatu hops from New Zealand. Canned 5 days ago. Light on alcohol wit just 3,9 ABV, but full of taste.
    Cheers!

I have a feeling I may be a beer pig today, so starting things off right with Russian River's 'Blind Pig'

    4.44/5 rDev +1.8%
    look: 4.5 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5

Crystal clear, light gold colored body; nice, gently rising carbonation; billowy, sticky, frothy white head; Excellent pine-resin aroma; mild sweet and grainy malt. Clean and bitter flavor; strong hop presence with a light malt backbone. Medium body; crisp and bracing with excellent carbonation prickliness; dry mouthfeel throughout.

A truly exceptional IPA, very eye-appealing, and well-balanced and bracing with an exceptional hop bitterness presence. Bottled 011719.
