    Happy Hallmark Greeting Day (Yet again)! Quiet laundry day at Turtlemoor here in NW PA - just a dusting of snow overnight.

    Today's New Breakfast Beer:



    Another funky wild ale which tastes nothing like the pineapple in my kitchen.

    Brooklyn American Ale - it’s flavorful enough for a light beer. Speaking of which, I haven’t had the luck to find Tank 7 and other Boulevards offering for a few years now.

    Distribution of American beers here is pretty limited, I wish I could have found super tasty Murican stouts for the winter; alas the Belgian quads and dubbel did the job.

    Cold and rain lingering on, this seems appropriate . . .

    Hazy light gold color with white cap.

    Pleasant aroma of light bread with yellow fruit highlights, spicy Belgian yeast and hints of clove.

    Taste on entry is mildly sweet which I think is due to yeast rather than actual sweetness, more an impression really. Some spicy elements present mid palate backed by ripe fruit. The flavors are not complex but the whole comes across as well put together. Finish is clean and some clove appears in the aftertaste.

    Alas, my ass! Belgian quads and dubbels are some of the best beers out there - we should be so lucky as to have continual access to them!

    Back at my favorite study spot, Warpigs. Starting out heavy with a beer I've been dying to try![​IMG]
    Warpigs Youfuckedmeup & Imfurious, a 6.0% ABV stout on nitro. Creamy coffee flavour with a hint of vanilla. An amazing beer! This'll hopefully get my creative juices flowing so I can finish my assignment in a hurry. Cheers everyone!

    Sugar Telescope, 5.4% ABV American pale ale. Much lighter than the previous but still delicious. Hints of tropical fruits and a tad bit hoppy. A nice sessionable pale ale.

    Deep golden colored body; thick, frothy and sculpted head. Mild aroma a light cereal grains and some citrus and mild pine notes. Mild toasty flavor with a well-balanced hop bitterness; biscuit; faint note of alcohol. Medium-heavy body; crisp and biting; soft warmth coats the palate; pretty much dry throughout.

    A nicely done imperial IPA, fairly subtle and balanced throughout, delivering a nice blend of soft, quiet malt grain backbone with a decisive hop bitterness.

    Back on the disabled list/wagon. Popped a few Tuesday night and have had lingering pressure/pain in one of the surgical areas ever since. Gotta just wait this one out, I suppose. Hopefully it passes and doesn’t require another doctors visit. Appendectomy be damned!

    Coal brown body; opaque; thin khaki colored body. Deep roasted grain aroma; baker's chocolate. Cocoa and bittersweet chocolate flavors; coffee notes; mild bitterness underneath a fairly sweet malt backbone. Heavy body; gentle coarseness on the palate counterpointed with a silky sweetness.

    A relatively sweet beer with a decided grain char and chocolate character.

    ...and a pretty solid post-Jim Morrison Door's album. Good musicianship, but Jim's vocal power is surely missed...
