Good very early morning Lingenbrau! And TGIF BAs...

Westmalle Tripel - a delight of a beer this one.

Weekend at last! And kicking it off in style.

3 Floyds Dark Lord 2017 from tap. It's one of those beers you hear a lot about but don't really get to try. Warpigs have on tap today though so I had no choice but to stop by. Glad I did. What an absolutely fantastic beer! It's perfectly balanced, the mouthfeel is unbelievable and it looks gorgeous. Incredible! Cheers and happy Friday.

I went through that first one way too fast and just remembered I haven't eaten all day. But it was just so damn delicious. Definitely wanted another one but they have some more limited stuff on tap so might as well try that since I'm here.

Next up is Warpigs own X BA Aquavit at 15% ABV. It's a good beer. But I did this the wrong way around. Should've started with this. It's not as balanced and drinkable and, being a Dane, I'm not sure I like the aquavit flavour shining through. It reminds me of too many nights with too much aquavit. As said it's still a good beer though. Think I was just expecting more.

I'm still working on a paper which is due in a few hours. Which, coincidentally, is when I have to be at work at the bar. So I needed something a bit lighter to stay focused. And to make sure I'm able to work all night. I really need to reconsider whether or not this is the best place to study

Another Warpigs beer. This time their Cellar Dweller, a 5.0% ABV Czech pilsner. Again I've done this the wrong around. A pilsner doesn't taste like much after 2 heavy stouts. But it is easy drinkable and refreshing and probably what I've should've been drinking the entire time if I wanted to finish this paper.

Goodmorning BA. Took yesterday off to spend it with my wonderful girlfriend who gifted me with a treehouse haul by the end of the night... I love that she embraces my drinking craft beer as a hobby.

I've done a lot good work on my paper but I've given up by now. Have to be at work in 3 hours so I'm having one last beer before going home to change.

Once again, a Warpigs beer. Salmon Pants, a 5.7% ABV lager. The sun's peeking out and it's, somewhat, nice and warm in Copenhagen. This beer suits the weather really well. A bit of sweetness and a lot of citrus flavours coming through. It's one of those beer that makes you miss summer.

Coming home after a nightshift to an empty, quiet house and having a great beer is one of my favorite times. Enjoy!

Strong beer in the morning? Depends on the day I guess. Oh wait, I'm retired so it doesn't matter what day it is . . .

A pretty color of coppery gold with white cap and good lacing.

Aroma of pine and citrus with something lingering that I'll call herbal. I can tell there's malt in there but it's not putting up much of a fight against the hops.

Taste at first is sharply, firmly hoppy held on a tight rein. They're there prancing around but not running away. I get the pine resin and grapefruit but also a hint of something like sweet orange. Not a bitter orange like Bergamot, rather nicer like Valencia. Malt is present as a solid base but each time I think I taste it something hoppy runs in shining bright enough to cast the malt into shadow. A complex array of flavors that work well together.

Typically, I come home to utter chaos. Usually I pack my daughter her lunch, watch my near-two year old son destroy the house, all while the glorious sounds of YouTube videos of obscure cartoons and other random people's kids playing with toys is on in the background, before relief shows up and I can get some sleep.

A quiet house sounds nice though.

stopped into Trader Joe's in Danbury while driving back thru CT yesterday - they'd moved their beer section and have a better selection since I've been there a while ago - they were selling these as singles only - $3.63 each - canned 1-29-19 ! - I can definitely taste the 'freshness' -

When I got back to my car I was surprised to hear the trill above me and see a small flock of Cedar Waxwings feeding on the fruits of the tree I parked under - very cool and beautiful birds - right there in a shopping center parking lot -

Well that didn't take long (before I had to drink it). I am drinking the Bourbon Barrel Aged B-Bomb (Abominable Snowman on label) with coffee and Cinnamon, or the Abominable Winter Ale as it is also called, ABV 14.00%. There's roasted malts, dark fruit, figs, coffee, a hint of Cinnamon, toffee, and bourbon, almost no hint of the alcohol. This is a truly outstanding strong Ale.
