Nostalgia Izzy says first canning of JFK2LAX about 2 months after release.

But the sweet sweet taste of being No. 05 in line probably added to the haze. And yes, we were fucking idiotic (or bored) enough to wait in line overnight.

 

Over night camping for beer in a line. You sir are my hero. Yet to do that...

 

It's as glamorous as it sounds. Especially considering it's the old Monkish release formatting.

 

you were 5? my buddy and I were probaby no.10 or so for that one. Good times.

 

I was in the group that had that one guy sleeping on the cot. LOL.

 

haha I remember that. That was the only release I camped out for cause we were drinking beers that night and at 12am we were like "you know what sounds like a good idea? camping out at monkish!"

 

We basically did the same thing. No real Saturday plans, so we just....kinda went. Made some cold brew, packed the car and played some board games. I always laugh at the memory of the deathly silence once we purchased our beers. Every release before that was met with applause when the first people came out. That one? Thick, drunk, silence. It tasted like victory.

 

just once I want to feel that feeling, looks like nowadays the only place people camp out for is Three Chiefs.

 

Honestly that doesn't sound fun to me.

 

Cons of camping out for beer: Freezing you nuts off, Not getting GOOD sleep & obviously waiting 8 hours+
Pros of camping out for beer: Line Sharing, Getting to hangout with the REAL beer fanatics, Getting super limited Beer
Guess it's on how you look at it. Make it a positive experience instead of a negative one

Really... Double Stack is your example? Maple syrup atrocity that only adults with onesie in the closet should be drinking while looking up the secondary value of Bud's Lime-A-Rita? Terrible and gimmicky beer for a reference. Tons of options sitting on shelves or available without any more effort than visiting an great brewery that's local to most. Just going to out of hand ignore the Non-BA stout premise outright:

Highland Parks - Griffith series continues to be excellent
Smog City - Infinity Wishes and variants
Horus - most if not all releases
Green Cheeks had crolwers of We're Czary last week
Homage - Paper Trails damn good
