Reading comprehension, dude. I didn't say anything negative about Weldwerks.

Do you need a new hobby? Why don’t you stick with threads in the Delmarva region. The comparison was made by another poster, my comment was a simple observation that compared total number of unique beers produced in a calendar year, by two different breweries. Furthermore, why would it matter if said Brewery distributes or not? Meanwhile, back to WeldWerks beer related comments. :sunglasses:

I (still) don't understand the rave for Weldwerks. Yes, it's decent but I've definitely had better from other CO breweries. Hell, I'd even drink anything that, say, Storm Peak, Strange, Avery, and a few others) does over Weldwerks. I know it's all opinionated and everyone's palate is different (I still enjoy Bristol but everyone else seems to think they suck anymore) but.....

    Bring on the hate! LMAO

I can't argue with you. I liked their pilsner, but the format and price was wanting. Their goses/sours are good. Hazy ipa's do nothing for me, and I am not a fan of super sweet and syrupy stouts, so I haven't liked any I've had from them (probably just 2 or 3, but I've seen enough). I also have zero desire to drink any beers brewed with eggs, spaghetti-'s, or Swiss Miss. I guess I'm an outlier, too.

I’m kinda in between. I like their variety and I’ve enjoyed myself ever time I’ve visited. I don’t think I’ve had a bad beer from them, but I tend to play it safe and drink styles I’m more familiar with at WeldWerks. I hear what you guys are saying about super sweet Stouts, but a 5oz option is pretty nice to try something, instead of having to get a 10oz pour, or so, and end up paying more and not enjoying the last few ounces.

Plenty of Medianoche variants (and especially regular) that are a far cry from the J Wake sweet stouts. Huge, roasty, malty. They do great with berliners and other styles, too.

I can see how someone who’s looking for a clean and simple Pils might not fully appreciate WeldWerks. One doesn’t need 100+ unique and interesting beers in a yr to check that box.

Well I have a trading partner that lives near Brooklyn and visits other half 30-40 times per year. I get near monthly shipments of Other Half cans. I also go to Weldwerks a lot.

Believe me when I say that Weldwerks has much more range than other half. Yes both breweries make a lot of IPAs that are just different combinations of the same 10 hops.

I'm not saying OH is bad- they make good to great stuff. But producing 150 new beers, 100+ of which are IPAs, doesn't seem like quite the adventurous feat that WW undertook this year.

How many of WW's beers were basically the same but with a different flavoring adjunct tossed in?

Very well said. That was essentially what I was attempting to say earlier. I even prefaced my comments as, ‘A nonbrewer.’ Your insight was well timed and your comments were valid. On a slightly different note, the ‘distribution’ footprint of Other Half, because they do self-distribute, is massive. Millions of people have relatively easy access to the beers they package and on draft. WeldWerks, on the other hand, no pun intended, is far less ‘available’ outside their tap room. They have been upping their distribution over the past few years, but I live just down the road from WeldWerks and I rarely see it outside of Hazels in Boulder.

Not sure. I’m sure @Tarheel4985 has some sort of spreadsheet breakdown, or something. :sunglasses:

Best first time festival I've ever been to and immediately in the upper echelon of festivals (FOBAB, FWI, WakeFest, etc) Beers were great, lines were manageable (Bokkereyder, BAA, and maybe another one or two not withstanding). Only complaints were not enough water stations and the fact that food was completely segregated from the venue (no drink outside, no food inside)

I’ll echo some points from above. Very well run fest for a first time and definitely ranks up there for one of the best fests I’ve ever been to. The quality of breweries/beers that were there was second to none. With the exception of a handful of beers/breweries that drew longer lines, there wasn’t a wait for 95% of the breweries. They sold the perfect amount of tickets for the size of the venue. Never felt cramped at all. I’ll have to disagree with @Dicers abiut the water situation. I thought there were more than enough water stations throughout the venue. There was never a line for water. The food trucks were outside of the venue which I thought was just fine. You could grab food before the fest started to get a solid base going or you could eat during the fest if you wanted to take a break. I should also mention that WW had about 10-12 different Noches pouring and there was never a line for any of them, can’t go wrong with that. Well worth the $100 price tag if you ask me.

Dump stations for water and water on the far side of the room would have been nice, the amount of water was fine. Also I think the price tag was never in question for the quality. Difference of opinion on whether or not you shuold be able to munch with a drink, but not a deal breaker by any means

Is anyone going to Invitational fest from Denver?

I have to figure out how to get to the festival and back to Denver on Saturday 22nd. Heard there was a shuttle bus, but looks like its already full. Anyone willing to split the taxi? Other suggestions are welcome of course.

We split a hotel four ways.... probably cheaper than a taxi both ways and we don’t have to worry about trying to find one willing to take us that far.

Ah yes, however I'm coming from Croatia and will be staying in Denver at my friends house. So spending the night at Greeley would mean 2 extra days of car rental, hotel cost and explaining my significant she has to spend the day in Greeley instead Denver (she's not attending the festival). So it's bit more complicated for me.

Will you be going there from Denver? Even one way ride would be helpful if I don't find anything better.
