Thanks for the advice. My first visit ended up as good as I could have hoped. The Tuesday release allowed me to leave with a wider selection and a growler fill. My wife and I were able to have a quick pour even with the kids in tow because it was so quiet. They even hooked the kids up with some OH swag bracelets. It was a much more relaxed visit than I've ever experienced at TH or Trillium. Surprisingly, the experience was more like a visit to Bissell Bros, which surprised me given the location. Thanks again for answering my questions.

 

I didn't even know they did one frankly. But I guess as long as there's more than one 4oz pour involved it will justify the $10.

 

He's a fan of the 'tose, he drinks a sippy cup of the pure stuff with every meal.

 

Glad you had a good time. That taproom is great when it’s chill like that. But be honest... how many >10%ers did you let the kids taste?

Hot take: cracked open a 5th Anniversary Banana stout the other day and a few red flags went off in my mind. The cap on the bottle came off way easier than I had anticipated, the carbonation was very cola-esque and it tasted significantly different from the pour I had in the tasting room. Wouldn't be surprised if some bottles start turning sour.

Nevertheless, I just secured my Pastrytown VIP ticket and hope to gain redemption in the form of insulin-dependency.

 

@Kevin do you plan on passing out at PastryTown? If so, let’s all prepare in advance as so not worry friends, family and strangers on BA.

 

And an unofficial meetup at OH on Saturday, myself, hazecats and possibly hazepecker will be there around 11/12.

 

I drank 5th for the first time last night after drinking nothing but Tree House all week. The experience was like you're sitting at meemaw's house watching her and her friends play bridge when all of a sudden Metallica walks in and start playing Enter Sandman.

I just wish they'd stop the plethora of lactose and oats in their once fantastic beers. The oats and lactose are a crutch, and kids love it, like the quality breakfast cereals on shelves lol. Go back to straight up solid non adjunct, non oatcream IPA, like they started with. Yeah right, they can't count money fast enough, never mind

I don't pull punches, was there at first release, and many afterwards, lately they've been shit, they even had to fuck with Mylar Bags, why the hell do that, was a great beer, not so much after "daydream" treatment, and goddamn that 5th anniversary mess, what were they thinking? Flame on lol
