The Helles came in a mixed 12 pack of bottles at Market Basket. Do they distribute the Helles in 6 or 12 packs anywhere?

6 packs of the helles are plentiful, at least in my area. I've never looked for 12 packs.

I like all the Von Trapp beers that I've had (their core brews and their very good seasonal bock) but I especially appreciate that, with their dunkel and their Vienna, they're ably serving two woefully neglected markets. Seven thumbs up.

Yeah their Helles might be their best beer (not my favorite Helles by a long shot, but it's good).

I'm also partial towards their Dunkel and Trosten.

Love Von Trapp. They make excellent traditional German Lagers. Love they went to 6 pack cans. I have given Helles to all my macro drinkers and they have to the person loved it. light and very flavorful. Trosten is great with just the right amount of smoke to make sessionable.

    Fresh Helles in Munich.

Probably fresh Weihenstephan Original. And Schlenkerla's Helles (from the bottle, the can is too smoky), although that obviously has smoky characteristics to it. But the malt profile is divine for a Helles.

I also dig Ayinger's Jahrhundert, although that's an export strength Helles.

No American versions come to mind, but Voll Projekt's (Notch) Helles Spezial that is out right now is pretty awesome. Again, like Ayinger's, that's an export Helles.

On my bucket list is fresh Augustiner Edelstoff from a wooden barrel in Munich. It's entirely possible I did drink it when I was there though. I ordered a fair amount of Helles anywhere I went, and they were all amazing.

I just went snowboarding at Stowe this past weekend and had their Helles on tap at the base lodge... one of the greatest beer experiences of my life. So good after hitting the slopes.

I like their beers, don't love them. The Helles is definitely my favorite. Would like to see them produce a some additional styles (e.g. Kellerbier, Maibock, Rauchbier). The price point is great but for some reason they don't totally click for me. I prefer Notch offerings. I've stayed at the lodge a couple times and their beerhall is awesome!

Your entire post is exactly how I feel.

Do you mean the brewpub at the base, or is there a beerhall in the lodge up the hill as well?

The new beerhall at the base, although the bar in the lodge serves their offerings (unfortunately, not other beer choices, but I get it).

Gotcha. Yeah I've drank at the beerhall. And have walked around the lodge up the hill (gorgeous area), but have never stayed there.

I'd love to have a wedding there. I just wouldn't love to have a wedding.

Anyone seen the Bock Bier around the Metrowest of Boston? I still haven't spotted one, though the flagships have just begun showing up in cans around here lately.
