Cocoa Nut has been the best variant from the start, I remember leaving with a bunch of growlers from the old/Exhibit A location before it started being bottled.

One style that’s always been missing from JA’s lineup has been a Bock. I think they have the know-how to make a good one but I’ve never seen one from them. Selfishly I’d prefer it to be along the lines of a Golden bock similar to Sierra Nevada’s Glissade from a few years ago or even the late Narragansett version but I’ll take any.

Have you tried their Maibock Hurts Like Helles? I like that one, as well as their Saxonator dopplebock.

I didn’t care for the Saxonator but I’ve never seen the Hurts Like Helles before - will look for it in May. Always enjoyed Berkshire’s Maibock but it seemingly re-branded & I haven’t seen it around in the past few years.

Shit, totally forgot about Maibock Hurts Like Helles.

I think for some reason I missed out on it last year. I recall it being good. Oddly, I also recall it being overly hoppy many years ago when I first tried it. After that I think it was fine.

Who knows, beer affects the memory.

@SunDevilBeer I recall it being a pale Maibock, akin to Glissade.

I'm still waiting for the day that SN re-releases it in some format, probably in a mix spring pack or something.

Between closing on Monday for all staff to attend services, and now this beer, Jack's Abby has always come off as a wonderful, supportive, family-run business. Always great.

Oh wow, I didn't realize that why they closed on Monday. Good on them.

I remember Herb back from his days at Beer Works in Lowell. Good guy, always had time to chat about beer. Always loved lagers more than anything else. Sorry to hear he passed away, I'm definitely in on this beer.

Heavy Trommel is just as great as last year. Such an amazing beer. Scoop it up.

Had my first one yesterday, it is indeed a tasty beer.

I like how the percentage is lower than you usually see with a porter at 5.5%.

Deep Ellum is a gem. I believe they tap a cask or gravity keg every Monday and announce it on their Instagram story. Last time I was in there they had an excellent cask of English Mild from Fyne Ales running.

Just picked up my second Citra Brau tallboy 6'er at a NH Market Basket for $8.99. This stuff is growing on me at that price point! Solid.

    Yes I did and yes.
A Kellerbier based on Porter, big flavor for such a light body.

Anyone else have a chance to try the Peanut Butter Cup BA Framinghammer? Thoughts? As a PB cup fiend I was eager to have this. I thought it definitely had the creamiest/fullest body of all the Framinghammer variants. The PB is noticeable on the nose but I wish it had more presence on the tongue. Still really enjoyed it as a desert beer.

As for the Gingerbread variant - I LOVED the nose, but thought the flavor was a little too holiday-spicy.
