Based on the top 2 runners up from the pre-poll for project #6, plus the 8 most popular styles mentioned in this thread...
    https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/time-for-another-averagely-perfect-brew-soon.606760/

...this poll will determine the style to be built in the 7th Averagely Perfect crowd sourced recipe project. Basically, everyone who posted a preference(s) in that thread got one vote. I split that one vote evenly among each style mentioned by that poster.

The style that gets the most votes (plurality) wins. If you see your choice doesn't have a shot, but would prefer a different style from the leader(s), feel free to jump ship. The poll will be open for 3 days.

    Here we go.

Barleywine would allow a lot of fun discussion, so would an Old Ale

    Everybody’s doing barleywines out here.
    Hardly see browns anymore.
    I’m going browntown.

Curious....how are “mentions” tallied? Is it purely how many times it appears, regardless of context?

No, the mention had to state or strongly imply that that's a style the poster would like for the next project. And as mentioned above, multiple mentions by the same person were split into partial votes accordingly. So nobody got more than one whole vote.

Brown! Mostly because I already have a good barleywine recipe and while underrated browns are tasty!

I will say by the time I went to vote I saw that it was mostly between brown and barleywine so I based my decision off that.

Brown here too. Been meaning to brew one for a while and it keeps getting bumped. This’ll be the kick in the pants I need.

Voted Belgian Pale....I'll surely be a ship-jumper, unless others see the pale light.

Throwing another vote to BPA so maybe we can get some momentum going. I know we just did a Belgian beer, but I expect a BPA would be much more interesting than a brown ale or a barleywine.

Like riptorn, I'm prepared to jump ship if necessary. I'd much rather do RIS than barleywine, and I'm always up for a porter, so if people flock to either of those I'll follow.

Brown for me too - there's a limit to how many barleywine recipes one person needs, whereas another party-friendly brown is always good to have around.

I love the fact that Landbier even made the list! I’d consider that a win right there.

My vote is Porter, but not just regular ol’ Porter, how about a Robust Porter? 6.5-7.5%

Aside from the fact that American Brown is one of my favorite styles, I think it is a great style for the Averagely Perfect process because there is a hugh variety of possible specialty malts that one can think about using, not to mention hops and yeast. Cheers!

Before I am convinced to switch my vote, can you clarify if you are leaning more towards the Jackman or Grant style?

Voted old ale, but I'm fine with barleywine. I'm brewing 8 gals of it soon, though, so if we go that way I probably won't get around to brewing the final recipe for a long while.

I'm going barleywine....which for me will be a Milletwine. Whatever gets chosen, I will join in and try to make a GF version of it. I'm sure I will pick up important processes that would have have otherwise missed. This will be my first 'averagely perfect' project and I'm excited about it.
