Was actually a little relieved when it wasn't one of you two... I think most of the stuff in these boxes y'all are familiar with (but I agree with the general premise of Terry's point below: if we're ever in the same city at the same time I'd love to grab a drink some time [same goes for all you other chuckleheads too, but that seems statistically less likely to occur in the nearer future)

Fair enough. I've been intending to do some of that in the near future as well... this winter was a bad combo of lower extremity incapacitation and continuing to drink like I was still active anyway... I've got some reverse catching up to do this spring. Box probably won't get there until the beginning of next week anyway.

 

So if possible I would like to join as my 1st BA BIF. I posted last night to my 1st NBS thread and planning to be weekly contributor. I have been a FB trader/BIF and tired of the insta-dibs and hype chasing. I really enjoyed the thoughtful reviews and love the idea of NBS and this BIF format. In the spirit of BIF I did post a charity box to
LIF - Raising Money for Oncology Center .

So I hope I can get a add to this BIF round!!

Had this beer just this past weekend and it was VERY enjoyable. Not enough BA Barleywines around my neck of the woods

 

I'd like to run a side LIF as a thank you for having me join in this round.

I'll be celebrating Peche Mortel Day this year at Godspeed Brewery in Toronto. Godspeed is the brewery that is owned by the former head brewer at Dieu du Ciel! Last year, they released a great collaboration homage to Peche Mortel with DDC. This year's collaboration hasn't been revealed yet, but will very likely be just as good as last year's. So, I'll send the winner of my LIF a box with, among other things, a can of this year's collaboration beer, a can of last year's collaboration beer (I had one a month ago and it is still drinking great), and I'll scrounge around to see if I can find some BA Peche to throw in as well. Of course, if the winner doesn't like coffee beers, I'll throw together something different.

I bought a new car/van/SUV/truck on the weekend. I bought a new 2018 model to take advantage of the 2018 sell-off pricing. The particular car/van/SUV/truck I bought was not available at my dealer, so they are getting the one I want from another dealer in the province. This means it will need to be driven from the other dealer to my dealer before I can collect it and drive it home. To win this LIF you need to guess the KMs on my odometer when I get into the driver's seat for the first time. Your guess must be in KMs. Closest guess wins, whether over or under the actual number. I'll collect guesses until midnight on Friday, March 8th. I won't be collecting it until the 9th at the earliest.

If both an under and an over guess are the same number away from the actual KMs, the tie breaker will be guessing the make and model of the car/van/SUV/truck. One point for model, one for make. To narrow it down a little, I'll say that my new car/van/SUV/truck is from a German manufacturer.

I hope this all makes sense...

Hear hear! I feel like barleywines are bizarrely underrepresented in this modern day of big boozy sweet thangs.
Side note: I had Brew 3000 from Fremont tonight and it was delicious.
