just so you know @AyatollahGold I'm not trying to make fun of you I genuinely find it interesting the way parts of the country call common things by different names like around me when you get south or near New York they call a sandwich a "wedge"

It’s all good man! That’s why I made the first post, just to have some fun with different areas.

But where I’m from we call it pop. And you mainly only hear barley pop from old timers, but yes I hear it. I don’t because of my age (unless I’m trying to act like my grandpa to annoy my wife a little for fun)

Soda or pop will suffice. Soda is far more prevalent by me.

BUT if I hear locals call it soda pop I know I’m in the wrong neck of the woods..

Yes. There are some red areas around me in Indiana. You will hear “I’m gonna go get a coke. I need a coke.” Etc.

    But I never hear soda.

And if I ever hear soda pop, I just imagine my life turning into a movie set and there being a fight between greasers and socs. Haha. @FFFjunkie

I like the influence of the Jewish and Italian retirees from the Tri State area (NY/NJ/CT) bringing their “soda” down to Boca and Miami.
