    Maybe the best CCB release of the week - “The Smiling Nut”, a Rye Whiskey BA Imperial Stout with pistachios (14.6%):



    Pistachios vanilla whiskey on retro nasal; flavors same with solid chocolate malt base; lux creamy tongue coating; no barrel booze and not too dryish ( to my liking @scream ) in the finish. Another WC BA stout from CCB - I got a rare second pour:



    Heading to the hotel to park the RV, then Uber to next event. Hope to post more later!

    Clear light gold color with generous white cap and lasting lacing.

    Aroma of pine and citrus, primarily grapefruit.

    Marvelous taste on entry that strikes me as pine with citrus hops, primarily grapefruit, and just enough crackery malt to balance with the whole coming across as both rich and dry. The dryness I expected but the depth of hop flavor delivered with restraint was a pleasant surprise. I get the comparisons with Pilsner though that's not one I would make myself, hops are different for one thing, yet it comes across as equally refreshing in it's own way.
