    Interesting situation.

I like Lagunitas, but Twitter is not the right medium for Tony. If it takes a dozen (abbreviated) tweets to say what you want to say, maybe you should put it on Facebook instead.

Agreed. I am torn about the Goose Island topic. I love the brewery and relate to the founders wanting to grow their business and needing investors. That isn't necessarily selling out as long as the quality and perspective on craft beer remains the same.

Reminds me how sad I am that Goose Island sold out. Everybody is mad at AB for buying them, but GI had to make themselves available for sale in the first place. The only thing keeping AB from dropping quality of GI products is that they know the second they make the slightest mistake, the backlash from the BA community will be devastating. Kind of nice to know that we have that power over the big guys.

I think you overestimate how much BMC gives a shit about what we (we being a few beer nerds on the internet) think.

My thought process: not everyone who buys 312 or Honkers is a beer geek, but I don't know any casual beer drinker who goes out and picks up BCBS, Juliet, Madame Rose, Lolita, Sophie, Night Stalker, ect on a whim... One, because of the price tag, and two, because they don't know what the hell these beers are. GI relies on us beer geeks, most of whom belong to the BA community, to buy up their special releases which are a big part of what GI is all about. But then again, I could be completely wrong, who knows what goes on inside the heads of the big wigs up in STL.

I wasn't aware that Lagunitas was run by a 12 year old girl. Who types like that!!?!?!

Guess which makes more money? BCBS may be expensive as hell, but flagships are flagships for a reason.

I bought/drank several 4-packs of BCBS back in 2008 before I had any idea what it was, just because an employee at BevMo pointed it out to me and it had a high abv.

Also, I'd be amazed if BCBS (and all its variants), Juliet, Madame Rose, Lolita, Sophie, and Night Stalker combined brought in even half of what just Honkers Ale makes for GI.

Yeah no shit...despite what I am sure a lot of people think on this forum; the community that discusses/contributes/trades and whatnot is stupidly small.

He's got a point, but regardless, he's a total hothead. I lost a lot of respect for him when he verbally attacked Sierra Nevada.

thanks for the link. His "jab" at SN was very subtle, and more of frustration. I feel like he attacked New Belgium much harder.
