Just moved out of the city this weekend into the Barrington Hills / West Dundee area. Any bottle shop recommendations out here? I've stopped in Garfield's once and liked it but just seeing if there were any others I should check out. Binny's of Algonquin and Schaumburg are about equidistant away from me (~20 mins). Thanks.

I stop at Binny’s in Schaumburg on my way out of the cityevery time I visit the area for Wisconsin. It doesn’t hurt that Portillo’s is down the street either....

Ok I guess I'm going to be that guy. Staying in Hammond for a few days and looking for best area bottle shops to get a chance at any remaining BCS variants and other recommendations for BA stouts I may not be considering. Willing to travel around to make it happen. If you have a honey hole and are willing to broadcast, your input is appreciated!

Can't speak to BCBS, but you should get Revolution Deth's Tar if you find it. I'm sure it's hanging around at some suburban or out-of-the-way Binny's and probably some smaller non-chain stores.

Sometimes you just have to ask if people have it. They may have it in back. This year it is everywhere and it pops up randomly all the time. Goose Island Fulton will do to-go releases from time to time so watch their social media.

This. 100%. And Straight Jacket. And Cafe Deth if you're lucky enough to stumble upon it. I'm drinking an 18 Deth's Tar right now and it is more enjoyable than the 17 BCBS I drank last night. My palate may have been a little wrecked from the chili I had for dinner last night, hence my perception tonight. But yeah, it's really great. I need to go get another 4 pack so I have it as a go to straight up BA stout option throughout the year.

All 3 of these Rev beers are available to go at the taproom as well as the brewpub according to the Rev site.

@TBonez477 this is worth a trip right here. Eat at the brewpub. Never know, one of the locations might be doing a crowler of something nice too. You won't be disappointed. Lots of places along the way to stop at.

From a quick trip from Hammond tip, go to The Open Bottle in Tinley Park. It couldn't be closer to I-80 and is a great place for draft and package. Assuming you avoid rush hour, 20-30 one way. Stones throw from several breweries in Tinley with Hailstorm being the one I'd hit.

I present excerpts from my regular bookmark page, which all of you should have in your folio.
If you enjoy music with your craft beer, you should definitely visit the Empty Bottle, as well as FitzGerald's in Berwyn, the Hideout (which is threatened by recently proposed development), and a new entrant, Sleeping Village.:grinning:
Other pubs which should be somewhere on the list are Owen and Engine (N. Western), the Templestowe Pub (W. Montrose), and The Long Room (Irving Park and Ashland).

I would be very derelict if I did not put in a good paragraph for the Twisted Spoke Tavern at Grand and Ogden. :joy:

For a specific sub-category - venues open until 4:00 am [28:00 hours] - I recommend Estelle's Cafe & Lounge @ North, Milwaukee, & Damen; Underbar on N. Western Ave. near Belmont; Pippin's Tavern at E. Chicago Ave. and Rush St. [a member of Spring Rewards]; and Joe's Unforgettable Lounge at Irving Park and Keeler.

Coming in to town to throw a suprise Bachelor party for my Brother March 21st through 24th....any one brewery stand out for having quite a few TV's? Would like to catch some NCAA action if possible....

Have been to Mikerphone, MoRE, Revolution, and Half Acre. I think MoRE had a decent amount of TVs if I remember correctly, but brother resides in Edgewater neighborhood, so thats a bit of a trek....

I think Old Irving might be the best bet in the city if you really want TV’s. Most breweries don’t hardly have any. I did watch some NFL playoff game a few years back at the upstairs area of Revolution brewpub, though. Not sure if that’s something they typically do, and I don’t think there was more than one or two TV’s.

Might be better off hitting up a place like Links Taproom or their sister bar Schoolyard Tavern. On Tour has 2 televisions, but I can't think of any other breweries that would be showing games.

    Forgot about that one.

But, I would agree with a prior post that going to a craft beer bar is a better option, since most breweries just don't want much TV watching in their space. A lot of craft beer bars also don't want that aspect, but from the list of recommended beer bars in the first post of this thread, I would say Fatpour, Jake Melnick's, Sheffield's and Timothy O'Toole's are all good options. Of those, I would say Sheffield's and O'Toole's are the best options.

Goose Island Clybourn has a few screens. Good if your watch THE local sport game, not so much if you want to view multiple games simultaneously.

Piece in wicker park will have a ton of TVs. It’s a sports bar/brewery with excellent Pizza. It’ll be packed though. Try and get a reservation if possible. If not, stop by and put your name in.

And then from there, you’re close to Emporium, which is a great hang for beer and old school arcade/pinball games.

From there, you’re close to downtown if you wanna go that route also. I’ve done variations of that exact day for a bachelor party, and it’s worked out well.

This doesn't deserve it's own thread and didn't see a KBS one. But Sheffield's tonight is having a KBS release party and CBS will be on tap as well.

Can't imagine it'll be busy given how quickly those 2 have faded in shelfie classics. Sheffield's is always a great time.
