They share a tap room with them.

They will occasionally have hops on (or maybe something like a pilsner). Nothing that I'd go out o of my way for. I don't even buy the hops when they have cans for sale during the stout releases.

Do they ever have the stouts on tap?

Very early on when I realized that they were there, they did have a base stout on tap IIRC. I did not visit and try it, but I do recall seeing it. I also know they did an "event day" where they did pours of Faha - believe that was discussed earlier, I wasn't there so I can't comment on how it was run.

Having said that, I do not expect them to regularly have the type of beers people really want to try from them on tap/in-house for quite awhile but I don't think that is unique to them. This is why I made the comment about the available beers not being rare/sought after enough for people to want to go try them - their beers are readily available but are you going to drive from the other side of LA for an IPA and a blonde? And, when they are the type of beer everyone wants to have from them, there will be a line.

My experience with festivals have been hit and miss where I have and have not gotten to try what I had wanted to, but that is certainly not unique to them either.

Not in my experience. Maybe when they have more time to get beer out. It's still. Pretty early for them. I've seen them brewing a bunch on ig, probably takes some time

Reprimanding someone on a 2019 thread for posts made in 2018 and accusing people of not getting over stuff. Wow.

^ it doesn't matter. They can make whatever decisions they want in regards to their business and that includes what is or isn't on tap or how they choose to market their products.

Let the record show that they use hype tactics on some of the beers.

This whole "artificial scarcity" argument- do people actually believe that the 3 chiefs are sitting on a stockpile of their own beer and selling bottles for secondary value? Or is the argument that they could have distributed thousands of cases but instead only made 200 bottles?

They definitely held back a notable amount of Faha in order to pour it at Festivals and used as raffle prizes, etc... which is marketing. So, there was probably some artifiial scarcity in relation to the hype but I think people expecting them to make every bottle available for public release is just silly so the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Perhaps not so hyperbolically, but I think a lot of people feel that if you are making your name on a certain style that you have some variation of that style available to try at your taproom. I think it is reasonable for a customer to decide whether or not to visit based on this expectation but I also think the owner is free to do as he pleases and either win/lose based on how the market reacts.

It seems to me that Three Chiefs are not looking to drive their business through servicing customers at the taproom, most of whom probably would not be returning customers and it is a fair consideration for their business. Horus has made a similar determination but has chosen different ways of bringing his product to market.

    Late to the party.

While I may not support Three Chiefs based on the strategies they employ (if true)...

I don't have an issue with Three Chiefs existing. If there's a market for manufactured scarcity, hype, and mandatory glassware purchases, then so be it. If there's demand for that, then why fault a company for supplying it? At the end of the day, vote with your money. (And if you buy into it all the while complaining about it, that's all you.)
