BBA old ale. This was outstanding. Nice head retention/spotty lacing. Aromas and flavors of big raisin, plum, prune, cherry, fig, date, peach, pear, apricot, melon, red apple, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, nuts, and brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of coconut, molasses, licorice, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very minimal herbal/grassy bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, rich malts; slight slickness, sticky hops, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing lingering bitter/tannic dryness, no cloying sweetness. Dangerously smooth/soft, minimal warming 9.5%, no barrel booze. Fantastic balance of fruity English yeast and rich English malts; with great overall barrel presence/integration, without being boozy/tannic. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Really spot on stuff. I love Old Ales just as much as English Barleywines, the top favorite style. 4.15

I had one of these with lunch earlier today and decided to grab another tonight after work. A near perfect IPA from start to finish. No lactose IPA IMO will ever be perfect from start to finish. What say youze?



I rest my case.

 

Holy hell, Massive amounts of tangerine and a sorbet like creaminess to this one.

Been a while since I had some EQ, this is straight fire!
