Happy Tuesday ba. Waiting for the god damn chimney dude to show up and I'm in need of a major beer run. Alls I gots are repeats. Starting with Hell on Wood, bba barleywine, from Duclaw. Pretty nice stuff. Aggressive with good oak and booze notes. 2/21/19,

Just keeps getting better . . .




Surprisingly malty on entry. I say surprising because I was really expecting a hop first hit but that didn't happen until the liquid nectar hit the back of my tongue where hops sprang forth is a most pleasant way. Hop muscles are being flexed but it's more like runners than wrestlers, a light, smooth flowing of hop flavor that builds up to but does not cross over into bitterness. I could drink this all day but at 7.2% don't know how far I'd get.

Dewey Beer. They Call Me Hay.

 

Relaxing with a Troegs First Cut IPA. The dogs are being very peaceful today & Wifey is being quiet & peaceful as well. The beer is hop forward. Citrus (orange) & pine are dominant. A bit of mango/papaya as well. Very nice offering from a very good brewery.
