Edit - saw a new brewery. Svendale. Just a few blocks further north on court. Anyone know anything about that?

 

I might need to pick up some Mosaic this weekend, but, I'm on a self-imposed 2 week ban of alcohol as I kick off a diet before vacation. I'm concerned that if I pick it up, I won't be able to resist.

Having said that, the new experimental hop extracts they are using is pretty much exactly how they are making all the new legal weed extracts/distillates/resins on the West Coast (specifically WA state). Everyone is vaping weed CO2 Oil or distillates. It's pretty much a brand new world of mad science chemistry in the Pacific Northwest weed world and now that seems to be moving to hops...

Looks exactly like the hop oil...

Re: Svendale, first Yelp review is up:

Woohoo, yet another tap room in Carroll Gardens!!!! While their brewery isn't in CG (it's 2.5 hours north) still have to give them props for opening here...and it couldn't be in a better locations....4 blocks from Other Half and Folksbier and of course right across from Frankie's (giving yet another place to drink and relax while waiting 2 hours for your table).

Okay so be forewarned this place is tiny. 6 bar seats, 2 low tables, 3 high tables, and about a 4 person standing area in back. Despite being small has a great chill vibe and good music playing. No attitude and an impressive 16 taps (2 were Kings Highway Cider the day I went).

Unlike the other tap rooms in the area, they really cover all bases in terms of styles. 1 pale ale, 1 lager, 2 saisons, 1 berliner weisse, 1 sour, 3 ipa/dipas, and 5 stouts (ranging from standard to blueberry and bourbon stouts.

Did the beer blow me away, no, but still really solid and definitely a quality product that I suspect will grow into a 5 star worthy review.

What is 5 star is the service, prices, and that they give you the option of 4,8,12,16oz pours so really can try all the beers if you want (also greatly appreciate that they you give you the ABVs of everything so you know what you are getting into...like a 11% blueberry stout that could get you in serious trouble if you didn't know the alcohol content.

Finally, what is most impressive is their to go Crowler pricing (beer canned while you wait). For the same price as any 16oz draft pour (all $7 to $8) you get a 19oz can to go.

 

So overall we expect a massive turn out with a huge line?

I feel like this weekends release screams “sleeper”. But I guess the stout collab may get some pastryboiz out of bed. Would like to think all the cans will last way into the afternoon

 

pastryboiz will be lined up at finback for their proper dose pours (and horus collab), or up at eq in line for ANOTHER 1pp BA bottle. i really dont think anyone is going to be at other half tomorrow.

 

You left out the ‘tose bois that will be in line at As Is. I still can’t believe EQ is releasing a beer that they only made a barrel of. Can you even call that a “barrel program”.

 

Curious to see if both Mylars last until the afternoon, also.

I think this is a "get here at noon" day. Said they have "lots" of Mylar and the frigid line is really slow.
