The two year anniversary is coming up for Humble Sea, and they've been gaining more and more buzz, so I figured they could get a thread of their own. Their wheelhouse seems to be Saisons and Hops, and since I'm not a saison guy, I'll speak to their hoppy beers. I've had about ten of their IPAs, and thought that En La Boca, Go Fog Yourself, and the beer I'm currently drinking Kermit the Fog were all top notch. A few of the others were pretty solid as well, and I haven't even had any of their top 5 highest rated ones. My sample size personally is enough to have me angling to attempt to get my hands on their upcoming Cellarmaker and Moonraker anniversary collaboration IPAs. What are other people's thoughts on them?
I like Humble Sea! I visited their taproom in SC a little after they opened and loved the vibe. Beers, to me, are good but not something I would chase after at this point. My sample is smaller than yours FWIW. I hope they're able to distro to the bay, would love to try more of their beers.
Been getting a decent amount of their stuff down here in San Diego. I like them. Nothing I chase after but that's mostly because of how much else we have to pick from down here. Would drink a lot more of their stuff if they were local, I'm sure.
Their IPA's are always on point, Double Tiki Decor might've been my favorite beer from them. Also got lucky and visited when they had their venture in stouts (Night Dip & Later Night Dip) as well as their BA stout (Night Night), which all were good, especially for their first attempts. It'll be really exciting to see how they improve post collab with Moksa.
Who else is looking forward to this anniversary weekends collabs with cellarmaker , moonraker and moksa? Humble sea making great beer lately imo
Well, a friend was able to grab me a pack of each of the DIPAs, so I'll be attempting to try those tonight!
Ordered a pack of the Cellarmaker collab Don Senderson under my friend's name but I spelled his name wrong so the order is still unclaimed. My friend is solid so he still got me a 4 pack while visiting over the weekend. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be driving down to Santa Cruz this week so that order will remain unclaimed... TLDR; I'll update the order name to the first person to PM me
Don Senderson was pretty good, way better than the Moonraker collab IMO. Forgot to have my friends grab me the Moksa Stout, but I was able to split one of his bottles. It's quite good.
Ya, they seemed pretty unbending when I tried to pick up too. At least it worked out, thanks again man!
Don senderson is a very good beer but I’m also very dissapointed in the fog yeah, It’s way too sweet and I don’t taste any of the dank strata hops they used (one of my new favorite hops). Sweetness like that is a common issue in some of moonraker brews lately.
My first sampling of Humble Sea Brewing hazies outside of the collab they had with Moksa Brewing (Fluff Boys was fantastic!) Really impressed with the quality and courage to think outside the box with their hazies (that they call "Foggys" LOL...) Next up, NorCal Meds!
Love the mouthfeel on this one...so soft...great depth for a single. I didn't catch the dank notes on this, but it is still a very good and crushable single hazy IPA...
These guys seem to really be on a roll with their West Coast and Hazy IPAs, as well as their stouts. They definitely get my vote for most underrated brewery in NorCal! Sea Through (West Coast), Wild Joose Chase, Socks and Sandals are all really good!
