Not sure, no sticker on it nor on the shelf.

Was tempted to take one to checkout, ring it up, then say "oh wow, mercy me. Actually, I don't want that."

Screw it: they'll sell out of it, anyway. It was FE on 8th Ave.

Wow. If there was one store that I thought had the integrity never to pull something like that....

PS how many DMs did you get saying “bro which store?”

Isn't Food Emporium owned by Key Food? How would reselling beer illegally work from a logistical standpoint? Is some random employee muling from Boston, calling up the corporate office and making a plea for them to sell it at the store? And they're saying yes and allowing them to put illegal alcohol in the system?

I get a bunch of dopes in Ronkonkoma reselling beer at their one off beer store, but a proper company? Makes no sense to me.

This is the confusing part. The known resellers in LI are not part of a larger corporation. Grocery stores take a premium for shelf space. I don't get it, except it's food emporium...

Has anyone seen Sap House on the shelves yet? They were going to start distributing their meads here in early 2019 but never gave a firmer eta

Switching gears a bit. A strange result of the craze for anything and everything hoppy/adjuncted, hype, and fresh is that you can find a lot of great "pre-aged" cellar beers. I know a bottleshop shelf for a few years isn't a perfect cellar environment, but I've grabbed a few dusty bottles of 3-4 year old quads recently and thought they tasted fantastic.

Apologies in advance for trying to blow up someone's local, but I found a new spot earlier that I hadn't heard much about yet. Beer Run in chelsea was right off 7th ave on 19th street and had an awesome, curated selection.

Great taps and an awesome can selection. Also nearly everything, but especially all the hoppy beer, is refrigerated.

Any good shops to pick up cans in the Hell’s Kitchen / As Is area? Have to hit an event at pier 92 Saturday. Kind of a barren area so any help appreciated

Clinton Gourmet. No doubt. He updates his Beermenus page daily.

+1 to Clinton Gourmet. Be sure to note the bottles to your right as you're facing the register, they hold some interesting things, but are sometimes picky about buying an extra perennial bottle or something. Also bread and Honey as well whole foods CC if you find yourself east a bit.

Also, you probably know that Hudson Valley is having a can release at As Is on Saturday?

No I didn’t know about the can release but that’s good info. Hopefully not too insane there.

There's 0 chance it isn't madness. The bar itself is also going to be stuffed to the gills, and if the POS for cans are inside, especially if they're behind/at the bar, it may not be that easy even if cans outlast the line.

Any new brewery who distros here, frankly, is a day late and a dollar short. Even Toppling Goliath beers are already collecting dust.
