Great American brown ale. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roast coffee, hazelnuts, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, cake batter, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of molasses, dark fruit, smoke, herbal, grass, pepper, pine, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate pine, herbal, grassy, peppery hops; and roasted coffee bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; very creamy/bready malts, some sticky hops, and light chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering hop/roast bitter dryness, no cloying, acrid, astringency. Very smooth, 5.4%. Awesome balance of rich malts, fruity/nutty coffee,m vanilla, and hazelnut flavors; with nice earthy hop balance. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. Spot on style. Tastes very close to tiramisu.

It's Spring Fling time. I remember when I only had to watch at Christmas time. Sigh. I could go to another tv, I suppose. But I like sitting with my wife. I do refuse to watch 20/20. She watched that on her own while I watched basketball today.

 

I can't argue that. Same here. But I draw the line at Hallmark movies...

 

Moving on from Orval for the time being, got some Skullslitter...oh yeah this finally made it to the Texas market. I love pretty much everything Orkney does, and this is a particularly good dark fruit forward Scotch Ale/Barleywine hybrid.

And listening to some dude that knows how to write a tune about drinking on a Saturday night.

 

I didn’t see any stouts in India either. I’d say 99% of the beer was Kingfisher, Carlsberg and Heineken. Also some Corona surprisingly. The other 1% was some smaller brewed lager (pretty good) and, of all things, dunkelweizen.

Having fun though tonight hitting the basement beer frig.

 

@joe1510 caught me at a very sensitive time. Now I have to prove my manhood with this here smoked beer in a "snulip". Haha. Snulip. I've never had this beer in anything but a willibecher or mug... Pinkies up!
