What? They had 3 different hoarders boxes available in January as well as You Asked For It and Elizabeth Rutherford. Granted, they weren't new allocations but if someone just got Hoarders, it would've been new. If you're talking about Reserve, I could be way off and might've just had the YAFI and Elizabeth Rutherford.

If I buy multiples I tend to drink one and then try to drink about one a year afterward to see how it changes. There are some beers that I will drink through quickly and early if they're likely better fresh like American Anthem. Other stuff gets moved up early if there's a risk of infection. I'll quickly drink through anything hoppy like an IPA since those don't hold up well at all. Overall though my priority right now is drinking through a lot of the older stuff I have on hand to make room for other bottles. I've started pulling from newer arrivals from time to time just to eat the elephant from both ends as well.

For RS the only thing to purchase in Jan was some "archived" bottles. There was nothing new.

All the talk about “focusing on the beer”. HS got 3 bottles and I don’t think RS got anything but the cards yet? I would be irritated if I was still RS this year and not seeing a drop yet.

Coming up on Q2, sure hope it lives up to the hype. I was super stoked to get HS but somewhat underwhelmed, especially with what seems to be a fallout in PR and implementation this year.

I think he meant RS Bruery only, which was supposed to have gotten Apfelsap but got delayed to an end-of-the-year M&FT.

So another perspective from someone who also upgraded to HS this year. I do share your skepticism on the focus this year on beer. It has been a slow start. I also can relate to those saying "I have so much beer, I'm glad there is a slow start." But for many people that join a beer club, be it a new RS member or an HS upgrade, a slow start is not a selling point.

Honestly I'm not sure why they offered me an upgrade, because I'm nowhere near the big spenders that some are here. The only thing I can think of is I am a good consistent customer for many years and that is likely to continue for many years.

As for the slow start, I'm willing to defer judgement until the end of the year. A slow start could be countered by a strong finish.

But I will say that this year's start does feel odd. Previous always started with a bang, good included bottles and swag. It also feels like there have been a lot of misfires in dealing with the societies.

Having said that, I still really enjoy their beer and expect to be a member for many years to come.

If you only joined for the included bottles you're probably not going to have a good time. When it comes to the slow start though the beer is ready when it's ready so some months will hit your wallet harder than others.

They just holding all the good stuff back until June so that when they ask you to renew in July you're still feeling the high.

I've never been a huge spender, ever. Without going to deep into it, it's way more than just how much someone spends.

Am starting to wonder if there is an issue in prep for this year's Anniversary Party. Looking back at my order history, we are already a week past the latest that I have ever bought my tickets, and the last couple years have been on sale early-March...

Don't want to book my travel until I'm certain of the date due to the late change they made a few years ago that left me hosed with a bunch of extra hassle and cost. Now concerned I'll be stuck with much more expensive travel arrangements if they don't release very soon. I wonder what gives?

They mentioned that the Society Member Monday for April, members will have the chance to win extra allocations for tickets to the anniversary party, so i would imagine they’re coming soon.

Tried Icky yesterday and thought it was better than represented here. Creamy coffee, a little sweet. Made me think of something like Bakery: coffee.

Actually enjoyed Spoon as well. Took it for what it is, a light blonde ice cream inspired ale. Not a big blonde “pastry stout.” Drank with others who enjoyed the peanut flavor.

Chirp chirp. We're still on it, it's a bit of a task to find options to to make this right but we're working on it in hopes that the final result will make this promise right. Feel free to reach out with any questions.

We actually think this year's anniversary is going to be the best yet. We've got some exciting surprises, and again the dates and location are set in stone.

This is a great point. We try to give ourselves a bit of freedom on timing as with barrel-aging we tend to let the beer tell us when it's ready. That being said, we'll update with expected dates this week for the releases on our membership details page. Hope that helps!

I really liked the email that went out mid-February with a pretty detailed overview of what March allocations would be. Gave me a week+ to get excited rather than being plunged right into "buy now" mode.
