First ever brewery on a cruise ship!!!! I'm about to be on the Carnival Vista and visit the brewery first hand. They also just started canning their beers. Anyone out there had anything from this brewery? How was it?
According to this article: Beer ahoy! Carnival Cruise Line now pouring private-label craft beer aboard all ships, "The brews are exclusive to Carnival’s fleet of cruises and private-island destinations, but you occasionally find them inside BrewHub’s Lakeland taproom." Also according to the article, the beers are: ThirstyFrog Caribbean Wheat: This unfiltered wheat beer, at 4.8 percent ABV, is infused with notes of orange and spices. ParchedPig West Coast IPA: At 6.2 percent ABV, this intensely hoppy beer is loaded with bitterness and aromas of citrus and pine. ParchedPig Toasted Amber Ale: This 5 percent ABV brew is well-balanced, with smooth notes of toasted caramel and biscuit.
Todd, is there a way to adjust the location of the brewery in the BA database using the GPS location of the ship? http://www.cruisin.me/cruise-ship-tracker/carnival-cruise-lines/carnival-vista.php
A brewery on a ship? "First ever"? Pshaw! They had those back in the 1920's* during Prohibition. BREWERIES ON OCEAN LINERS * You know, back when "Fake News" was really "FAKE" (or "BUNK" - which ever).
I am friends with the brewer. I'm asking him if he has an account here, and if he would like to chime in. Hopefully he can pop on by!
He said 18+ websites are blocked on the ship for employees. But, anyway, if you happen to see Ron or Colin (one of them will be on your ship), tell him Shane says "Hello!". Enjoy your trip!
