Oh no. I hope the damage isn't too bad. Common Roots is one of my favorite NY breweries at the moment. :slight_frown:

Pictures look like the whole place is gutted. :slight_frown: Nice people and beers. The brewing community is already rallying for them.

    Omg, that's horrible!

How strange, I had my first common roots beer tonight despite this horrible news.

It was amazing, I wish them my blessing and a speedy recovery!

The pictures are insane. Supposedly it started as a kitchen fire? I'll pick up a few cans of Bright Light next time I'm at my local.

Yea I saw one picture that made it clear to me it was a full-structure fire. Insane.

Good luck to them going forward. Hopefully it doesn’t take them too long to get back on their feet.

Man this really sucks, pics look extremely unfortunate. Very much enjoy their beer.

They literally broke ground on their expansion on Monday morning.

Upside: they can build new to their specs rather than retrofitting the existing space.

Latest is that it looks like almost all of the fire was contained to the front of the house. Taproom and kitchen are completely gone but, thanks to a newly-installed firewall, the brewhouse is 'mostly' in-tact. Even the beer that was in the fermenters at the time is fine.

Regardless, it's extremely heartening to see how quick both the South Glens Falls and Capital Region brewing communities have rallied around them. I'm sure they'll be back up and running just fine.

Sad news. They are super nice people. Hope they get back on their feet quickly.

One of my absolute favorite breweries. The crew is made up of the nicest people that make us feel like family whenever we stop in. They set up a go-fund-me for employee support and to cover damages that fall outside the purview of their insurance.
