Good morning BAs! Back from walking the dogs this cool breezy morning. Looks like it’s going to be another beautiful cooler Spring like day. Instead of a breakfast stout, I’m going with a breakfast Belgian - Duvel:

Cheers and have a great Friday!

Not drinking today and for some more days too. I will need to drink less to combat the beer belly before summer and also for my (probably already damaged) liver.

Cheers Dave for starting this thread and I’ll see yall soon enough - and drink more moderately (how odd for a moderator )

Amager Bryghus opened a taproom today in the middle of Copenhagen and since I had a short day at school I had to drop by and check it out. The place is looking good and it still early over here which means no queue at the bar so I think I'm gonna stick around for a while.

Starting out with a beer they made in collaboration with Gamma Brewing, a 6.0% ABV NEIPA. Loads of grapefruit and super hazy. A really decent beer but a tad too hoppy for my taste. Cheers everyone!

Spring has arrived in Copenhagen today and it is hot so I'm swiftly on to the next one.

Another NEIPA collab, this time with Brewski. A bit sweeter and more tropical than the last one but equally good.

You’ve done your share of the morning/afternoon heavy lifting the last couple of weeks here...rest your kidneys, and I’ll drink some Belgian (no French beers, sadly) beers to your good health...your seat here at the bar awaits your return - Cheers my friend!

I am drinking this explosive combo: Plutonium, the BIG BOMB, then lots of Smoke. Plutonium-239 a Porter from the Manhattan Project Beer Company, Dallas, Texas, roasted coconut, chocolate, creamy, ABV 6.20% then the BOMB! a great Imperial Stout from Prairie Artisan Ales, ABV 13.00%, and after that comes the Smoke Beer, or Rauchbier, Aecht Schlengkerla Rauchbier Märzen from Braurei Heller Bamberg, ABV 5.40%, and it is smokey, very smokey, it's like eating toasted bread and smoked ham by a bonfire.

One last beer and then home for a power nap before work later tonight.

RyeKing by Amager Bryghus, 7.7% rye stout. I think this is one of their stable beers. A pretty good sessionable stout with a semi-heavy amount of coffee and some sweetness. Feels a lot like a milk stout.

Good morning, all! You sticklers for truth in advertising probably won't like this Shitty Lyte Beer, 'cause there ain't a whole lot to complain about. Light as advertised, good carbonation, not too sweet on the palate, no bitterness to speak of (5 IBU), and a dry and astringent finish. I'm not big on so-called "lawnmower beers," perhaps because I'm not big on lawnmowing in general. That said, this one is summer-worthy. Check it out if you can!

    It's even bottle-dated.

Nice light golden color with white cap and lacing.

Lovely aroma of dry, crackery malt and floral, spicy hops.

Taste is hop forward with a firm bitterness that also develops a hop brightness as the beer warms up a bit. Malt flavor is dry, crackery and bready, yet malt plays a secondary role here supporting the hops. Not as malty as traditional Pils but I'm getting the impression that old style is not the goal here. Call it an updated take on the Pils style. Not a diminished one, or for that matter a better one, just different in it's own way and it's good.

5 hour work day complete, lunch prep underway. Today is my 22nd anniversary with my wonderful wife! She's done most of the research in our visiting 50+ breweries and is an awesome navigator. Also has put with my crazy shit and guided us to a forthcoming (22 months) retirement. Cheers to what today means to you!
