My bad, meant to ask about Melt Forever. Saw where they posted the cost for Beachweed

Gotcha. Looks like 19.99 on Melt Forever.

It's being released in the same time frame, Vallejo is no longer listed as a core brand on HA's website.

Tuna is underrated , but replacing Vallejo with a hazebro leaning beer is a mistake. Both IMO of course.

I think Half Acre is making enough hazy leaning one offs to please the tickers without replacing a core beer. If they end up replacing both Navaja & Vallejo as core beers that will speak volumes

I don't think it's so much trying to please a certain segment of the beer world, I think it's more them just trying to change things up and experiment more. Having gone to their taproom a lot in the past few years, I've noticed a shift lately into having a lot more new options of one off draft kegs than in the past. They just seem to want to try to branch out a bit more and keep things fresh, while still occasionally brewing their old staples.

Yeah I can live with cutting it down to 3 months from 6 but I’d be very disappointed if it went away altogether. I like that Modern Times went deep into the hazies but they still make their standards and didn’t change recipes like TG. I would hope Half Acre would go that direction

Vallejo was a Nelson and Pilsner malt beer originally. Last year Nelson became to expensive and difficult to acquire. So they played with the recipe last year. It was Nelson and a German hop combination.

It makes since that HA make a new beer as Vallejo is becoming for difficult to make. Plus the market is asking for something hazy, and half acre sounds like it’s ready to oblige. Although I’m guessing this will be something more about hop expression than full bodied “goon sap”, because their core brands are typically around 10 bucks

While I wasn’t able to stay for a draft pour, they told me that Melt Forever “tastes like a lemonhead and smells like weed”. While that is the best sales pitch EVER, now that I’ve cracked one I’m not sure I completely agree. It is, however, quite good. Vanilla and lemon jumps out for sure. It’s on the sweet side with a bit of alcohol burn, but you can still taste the hops of that makes sense. Body is thick enough for this beer, but thinner than other examples of the style.

Anyone know if melt is available for growler fills? Doesn’t look like the site is up to date and no one answering the phone at the shop. Thanks

I don’t think so, at Lincoln at least. I asked for a sample but they didn’t have it on one of the growler fill lines.

Just had lunch at Balmoral. I thought Melt Forever was good. I thought the lemon and vanilla worked well together, and it was easy to drink. I didn’t sense any alcohol burn to my palate.

I’m a big fan of Blazed, so I give that the nod. I wouldn’t even say Melt feels milkshakey though. It’s kind of a hybrid of styles to me.

I know you were asking @croush but my personal preference is melt>BOM. Had both this weekend.
