Tonight is the first day I'll have to go at night and I'll prob just find the shortest line to grab a beer and leave. Don't want to deal with a massive line knowing that I will probably have to on Saturday

Yeah, we got in "early" yesterday (4:40ish?) And the lines were so awesome. Less than 5 minutes. At night, the Glen is like...20? Maybe more?

Tiki has surprisingly more coconut than However Improbable when it warms up, really enjoying this.

Agreed, this is the best barrel aged beer BL has put out, IMO.

Like everyone else has said, Hypermash is AMAZING.

Best I've tried this week for sure and one of the best beers from BL. Period.

Hey guys, could I get your opinion on something?

I think we all agree that BL has always been good with communicating their rules, especially for WOL. Don't park here. Doors open at 11. Last call at 9:30. Last pours at 9:45. Grounds close at 10. They also announced, when I was there near closing on Monday, that we could buy merch until closing, if we wanted a stamp but couldn't get another pour after 9:45.

On Wednesday I came straight to WOL from dinner with my family. I got there at 9:40, 20 minutes before closing. But the gate was shut, and I flagged down a security guard on the other side of the gate. He told me it was crowded and they weren't letting anyone else in. I told him that I thought the event closed at 10, and asked him if I could just come in, buy some merch, get my stamp and leave. He said no, and to come back when they open the next day.

Based on BL's Instagram announcements and the WOL website, I never got the impression that I had to be inside by 9:30 in order to gain entry, and that gates closed at that time. My thought was that, if they say grounds close at 10, then that's the time everyone has to leave...but that I could at least get in at any time before closing. Especially if all I'm trying to do is buy some merchandise.

I wrote to Lindsay about my experience, if for no other reason than to maybe get them to communicate more clearly that you have to be through the gate by 9:30. Just so others (especially those driving from far away) don't have the same thing happen to them. I haven't gotten a response yet, which I totally don't fault her for given how crazy this week is. But what do you guys think? Is this what I should've expected, arriving after 9:30?

If the security guard said it was too crowded and they were restricting others from coming in, they might not have had enough security to accommodate even more patrons.

Just like when there is a Gull's game in san diego and a line out the door at modern times, they won't let others in just to pick up, or quickly grab a piece of merch. Limits are limits for a reason. They have to play nice with the city so they don't hurt their license and can easily apply for another license in the future.

Like burrito reaper said, dont try to push it though i doubt you did however, I understand you simply trying to purchase merch but, you could have arrived a bit earlier to save you the hassle despite the dinner, just my 2 cents.

Definitely don't go to Golden Road and probably don't do Noble either. However as far as Mexican food goes: Taqueria de Anda is nearby, or if you call in your order, Cali Tacos. Burritos as big as your forearm.

I’m not an expert by any means but maybe they were up to or already over their legal occupancy limit. I’d imagine the city would not be too kind in regards to those types of violations. Especially given this was a special event with a special permit. I wouldn’t imagine BL intended to turn patrons away but regulations are regulations.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. Def don’t expect them to risk their permit if capacity was indeed the issue.

Agree. I stand by my reasoning that Hypermash tasted like a really good Filipino dessert "kutsinta" or "puto" with a side of coffee. So good.
