The hook is back. I wonder if that means will see distro this time, first go round they respond “not this time” so maybe that means it will this go round.

Great to hear on the hook - hope to see it and look forward to trying... I also see that SS Hief hit local distro by me, and hope to grab some this weekend.. that one I also haven't had the pleasure to try yet.

Just picked up some HopPun and SS Hief, and had a Pun. Damn it’s a fine pale ale. It has a solid bitterness with a bready malt finish. I can’t decide why I like Carton more. The ingenuity or textbook execution on styles. Oh wait, it’s both!

Spent my day drinking hop pun and I have to say it's an amazing American Pale, but what in the world does "Overhopped" mean?

Is this Carton's way of putting "DDH" on the the label in the most ambiguous way possible?

I ended up at Kane on my way to Asbury rather than make making the detour to Carton. Kane was just a lot closer plus DDH Indicators. We had time to kill so I stopped into Wegmans and saw SS Hief in the cooler and scooped up a 4 pack. Man this beer is good.

means we upped the hopping rate when we got the new bigger hop rocket so it has more than the previous recipe. it's pretty much been locked in last couple runs so will probably go away, now that it is becoming the standard, but if you know the original beer this has more hopping so we thought we would let the people that liked the original know.

Is the tasting room still in the original building? Are there plans for a tasting room/public area in the new space? Any timeline? Thanks!

Just wanted to say, one of your employees we were talking to was talking about what the tasting room space could look like someday if all goes according to plan. It all sounded very impressive; I could only imagine the views if they let you build up on the second floor. Hoping for the best! :beers:

oh it's all laid out, and its all approved, and it does see cony island from what is currently my desk. but right now keeping boat $10-11 at retail means that part of that project is filed as "funded over the long term."
for now we are growing into that space, and ticking a few more of the longer term brew projects while keeping up with/getting up to demand for the neighborhood stuff. next is a new system, then coolship, then a couple more brew toys, then new TR. but i love our little tasting room and in it's new bigger iteration i am happy to keep up our tradition of stepping at our pace.

This is refreshing to hear as other breweries wouldn’t care about keeping consumers in mind about the price of their beers. Thank you.

Finally had Balinator last night. Love the nose on it, tastes like a great iced coffee and a well-made dopplebock blended together masterfully. Since enjoy both iced coffee and dopplebocks, I really enjoyed the beer.

It’s a different doppelbock that’s for sure. I like it too.

Speaking of which, I brought a mix six of Balinator, Hoppun, and Heif to my nephew’s birthday party up in NY yesterday. First, I saw a four pack of Beach sitting on a shelf in Dicicco’s that was well over a year old. Then at the party, my brother-in-law did not like his Balinator so he “accidentally” switched cans with a dude who was drinking a Hop pun. Dick move!

At least it was a Carton-for-Carton switch.

My brother grabbed me some Tak - real nice. Also got a 4pack of random irregular coffees from a buddy, glad to have something new from Carton to work through.
