Just curious....I’ve been a long time fan of a particular brewery. Over the recent months, I’ve been consistently let down in their practices and their beer. I’m struggling with whether to move on or not. I’ve still got FOMO, but am always disappointed in the end. I’ve enjoyed other breweries beers much more lately. How do you all deal with just “letting go”?

Let me guess...Trillium? If you are disappointed just go elsewhere. If you still like some of their beers keep just getting the ones you like. I don’t really get thr noaralgia and personal attachment some folks get w particular breweries. Cheers and good luck.

    It's just beer...

I won’t name the place, but it’s not Trillium. I have a lot of friends involved in the establishment, and it’s hard to just leave. Yes, I know it’s “just beer”, but for me, I’ve been a regular from day one, and it’s become more than just beer...more like a family that I’m ready to leave.

If they're like family to you be sure to borrow money from them before you ghost.

If you name the brewery I'll give you an honest answer.

As an example, I've been annoyed with Trillium for quite some time, went for the first time in four+ months on Monday to meet a friend. Did not miss it at all - beer is unremarkable and overpriced for the most part.

Maybe don't go this next month, then see where you are at. Visit new places instead. After the month, see how you feel. It's not like cutting off a limb, the place will still be there if you ever want to go back.

It’s a small local neighborhood brewery. Not trying to crap on them, or persuade others from not going, so I won’t call them out. I think I’m just going to stay away for a bit, and make new buds at other places.

They also screwing their employees? Change yeast profile? Pour dirty ass trub kegs? Selling tequila infused beers as barrel aged? Owners generally worshipping the devil?

    Mystic Brewing?

You can't start a thread like this and not expect us to guess.

Definitely not Mystic. Love those guys.

This is a very, very small neighborhood brewery that I don’t believe has ever been mentioned on BA. And they didn’t really do anything awful or offensive...I think I just got bored with the beer.

I meet up with a crew every Friday, and I was just hoping for some ideas on how to bow out gracefully from the group that has no intention of leaving.

I here ghosting is a popular technique these days for such dilemmas.

I’ll venture a guess with Winter Hill in Somerville. Just mediocre beer since day one. Cater to the semi wealthy “hipster with newborn” crowd who just want a place to hang with their friends & have kids sleep in the carrier/stroller, beer quality is 6th on the list.

My vote is going to other places. Yes sometimes people get bored with their locals. It's normal. Get some strange, see some other people
