I was going to send a box last week until my boss decided we needed to work. Since I live in rural area getting to a shipping place before 5 was nearly impossible. So the box is going out Thursday. Should reach its destination by Saturday

On the ninja topic, here are a few more items...

    1. Dan B. listed as the sender
    2. My address had to have been shared - so somebody knows more than they are letting on.

    Content hint

    1. Going to Colorado at least two times. One trip will strictly be for beer.

    ISO: chicken eggs from @jhavs

Awesome that you raise them. Farmers markets are super seasonal due to the elements but that is something we get every time. Huge difference vs store bought.

It wasn’t me this time ... (as much as I wish it was) Maybe one of your more recent “victims”?....

Yeah, there really is. You can see it in the color even. Kind of crazy.

My mother and father in law have them, so we’re lucky enough to get those eggs. We tried doing it and had the chickens for almost two years but they just never would lay.

We have had chickens for like 13 years. On our 3rd batch (we get new chicks every 3-4 years). Oddly, one from the original batch is still alive. We call her Old Yeller (because she is old and yellow).

Wow, I’d guess that’s pretty old for a chicken. I think the oldest my in laws have is like 8, maybe.

Have you had a problem in any batch with them not laying? And do you have dogs?

Never had an issue with them not laying. Some breads slow down in winter to a few a week, but most of mine are around 6 eggs a week from 0-3 years old.

I have two dogs and one is a herder. He is trained pretty well to leave them alone. Never had an issue other than once he got his nose cut by the rooster.

See, when we had ours we also had a Australian Shepherd pup (untrained, because it’s a pup) nevertheless, my wife didn’t like me having to put one of the chickens out of misery when he got the best of it.

He’s now my dads dog and is something else to watch. If he gets out he will chase cars down the road and actually try to herd them. Jump right in front of them and try nipping at the tires. Crazy dog.

I now have a 2 year old Saint Bernard, and he’s a much, much calmer soul.

Ours is an Australian cattle dog. He is a little rambunctious, but well trained.
