From IG comments, it won't be hazy. Maybe they just wanted a year round IPA and started from a new point

Has there been any official announcement about Vallejo or are we all just drinking speculation city? At best I could see Vallejo being a seasonal like GDDC or BHA that's around for a month. To get rid of it completely would be a major mistake.

I’m having Speculation City right now but am pretty sure it’s not DDH though it appears to be unfiltered

We don’t filter any of our beers.

I know. It was a joke from a 2016 discussion

Wrong thread. Pretty sure that was the last beer brewed at MoRE by a certain well-known brewer. Brewed with cacao nibs, an employment contract and pastry ingredients to be deciphered by the consumer. When poured into the right snifter, the foam forms a map with directions to the Phase Three's future taproom.

They answer a joke but, don't address the Vallejo rumors?

    It’s a complicated answer so I can’t address anything.
I will say this though, it’s wonderful to see how much love Vallejo still gets!

I really like Vallejo and look forward to it returning every year. Hopefully we still do.

I don’t think you understand how important Vallejo is. In the 6 months Gone Away is on hiatus if there is no Vallejo in the fridge my wife drinks all my hoppy one offs....

Can sympathize. Is there a name for this yet? There should be a name for this.

Will we see something (press release or otherwise) that will address whether GoneAway and Vallejo will remain or whether (a) new beer(s) will take its place? Both are great (as is Navaja, which is one of my favorites from you guys), and it'd be a shame to lose them like we lost Navaja (a small amount released for a single month is basically lost).

I understand you're a business, so if they're not selling, they're not selling, and I know we're all excited for what's to come, we'd just like to know (or know when we'll know) what's going on with some of our favorite beers.

Meanwhile I'm over here hoping this new year-rounder will make me less bitter about Navaja (not that they're at all comparable).

I'm a firm believer that most beers should be seasonal. Have it around for 2 weeks to 4 weeks per year and then go onto the next. I think Vallejo is a great beer, I'm always pleased when I drink it, but I don't go seek it out knowing it was always around. BHA and GDDC on the other hand have that limited feel of "I'd better grab this now as I won't see it for another 12 months". Giving Vallejo the same treatment probably is not a bad move.

I think that's the main problem; us. I totally blame myself for being the type to grab something new instead of something that will always be on shelves.

With that being said, if HA is going to continue having year-round or at least seasonal stuff, I obviously have opinions on what those beers should be (hint: Navaja and BHA would be 2 of my main choices).

I'm totally the opposite at this point. If Hop Butcher always had Wave Burst and Dun Dun Dun (or whatever they chose as year-rounds), Half Acre always had Daisy, Tuna, Vallejo, and Navaja, Pipeworks always had Lizard King and Velocity of Light, etc., I'd be more than stoked.

I enjoyed having Vallejo and GoneAway swapping, so if they're stopping that in favor of a year-round and just doing one-offs as brewery-only (which is inconvenient for a lot of Half Acre fans, though I understand it from a business perspective), I think that'd be a shame.

For a giant like HA, I think it makes sense to have their core lineup and selectively rotate seasonals.

The market has become rather bifurcated between the “standard” craft beer drinkers who are more than happy to stay in a comfort zone of Daisy / Anti-Hero, and those of us who only seek out the newest, “craftier” brews.

By making more seasonals, the goal would be to create some hype and more of a sense of urgency to try it given the limited time frame. Beers like Vallejo and navaja just sit there as it is, and this is a good way to try to move them more efficiently

I don't even live in Chicago anymore and I only visit this forum nowadays to make myself sad, and Vallejo going away makes me really, really, sad.

Now and Then gets released Friday apparently.

@habc_me should we expect the same beer as last time or a hazier version? (like the recipe modification to the 3rd batch of dungeons)

Keg club members would love to know what’s in the keg before driving from the suburbs
