First time goer here - what's the word for getting to and from DLD on Saturday from Chicago? I have group C so would be probably Ubering down in the mid morning. But for return trips to Chicago, what do you guys recommend? Are return ubers pricey because of surge usually? Are buses back the best option (ideally looking to pass out on the return trip home)? Any other tips?

 

Take a shuttle to and fro' bro, don't even deal with an Uber.. The Beer Temple has one and so does Open Bottle, to name a couple.

Take a shuttle. You can optionally only take one for the return trip if you want to Uber down, some of the shuttles might make you purchase a round-trip ticket, but it might still be worth it. Ubering back will be much more difficult.

There are also shuttles leaving from the Open Bottle in Tinley Park, and Beer on the Wall in Park Ridge from the burbs, but those might not work out for you.

 

The shuttles are timely and also a fascinating experience. Some people pass out, some are yelling or shouting, and some are pouring more beer. Last year after a long day of drinking it was nice of one person on our bus to crack a bottle of Grey Monday (20%ABV) and pass it around. Just what we all needed!

Feedback welcome: my bachelor party will be DLD this year (it will actually be the whole weekend) and there will be a total of 10 people coming in from out of state (everyone has a ticket to DLD secured). ALL are 1st timers except for me. What is best way to get to and from Northbrook? We are thinking of renting a 12 person van and hiring a driver to drop us off at 7AM and pick us up at 9PM at end of fest,... or convoy of Uber/Lyft to DLD and back?

Im getting married 3 weeks after DLD, so preference to 5-7 of the people surviving.

 

My bachelor party was so lame by comparison....oh if I had it all to do again. Sadly I'm very happily married and I won't get to have a second one.

I’ve had less than 10 people and rented a limo van on multiple occasions. It’s worth every penny. (M&M Limo, limo Sprinter van - you won’t regret it). More room for bags, etc than Uber.

 

Congrats. I'd get a quote on the rental and if it wasn't too unreasonable, do that.
