That stuff sounds like a burp machine. Throw in a Pennrose Sausage and a pickled egg and you are literally good to go!

Nope, he needs a pepperoni roll too for the trifecta.

I thought about that one too, but I still feel like non-beer geeks might not know what that is. And it's also not year round.

Yeah CO sounds like a tough one. What about Oregon? There's been so much craft beer there for so long, I'd be curious what beer would represent that state.

Also, what happened to that guy?

See, these are the types of answers I was looking for. I never even heard of that beer, it's cool to find out what other states have for popular beers (outside of Bud Light...everyone has Bud Light).

Everyone (at least around here) knows what BCBS is ... its covered in local news papers every year, the news has camera crews at various releases (and always at the main Binnys including occasionally covering it with a helicopter in years past). Its an institution more than a beer.

I think that Oregon would be Deschutes, either Mirror Pond or maybe Black Butte. I feel like for the beer geek side of things Oregon would be something from DeGarde or pFriem family. Seems like those folks are absolutely knocking the farmhouse styles out of the park lately and it seems like a fitting 'Oregon-y' style

@beertunes brought that up earlier. It's very difficult to name a states quintessential beer when craft beer has been influential for decades in that state. California, Colorado, Washington, Oregon all fall in to that category. Fat tire has been a staple in CO since before I was legal to drink. Don't confuse that with before I was drinking. Sunshine wheat was another beer that seemed to appeal to those seeking a lighter beer. Fat Tire, and New Belgium, embrace Colorado, they work within the communities and celebrate our local out of doors culture. Even looking back at la folie, new Belgium was pushing beer culture ahead of their time. The lips of faith series was as well. Man, reflecting back on them, I certainly feel terrible for not buying more beer from them.

For those in Michigan who think M43, I suggest seeing a doctor immediately.

Two Hearted is the definitive answer. The history and staying power of that brew is unrivaled.

    I agree.

I also feel it represents Michigan well as an IPA. It just seems more outdoorsy and blue collar having a bit more prominent malt base than most other IPA’s. It’s a good choice for all 4 of our distinct seasons here.

I’m not sure if I’m explaining it well but hopefully it makes sense.

If we went down that slippery slope, you'd probably have to split CA into 4....SoCal (Stone, etc...), Central Coast (Firestone), NorCal (Sierra Nevada, Anchor). Central Valley is a distinct region as well....but not much going on for beer.

For Connecticut a year ago in this thread I see 2 BAs listed beers from New England Brewing. Good choice, but in today's environment I would have to say Beer'd, Foxfarm and Kent Falls are the best brewers in the nutmeg state. But due to wide distribution Two Roads has to take the brewery crown. What beer of theirs though? If it was up to me I would have to go with Two Juicy. Not their "flagship" but my favorite. A really good NEIPA without the wait (if you know what I mean).

So proud. For South Dakota it could be any number of beers from Sick N Twisted; Panty Dropper, All Day Wood, Barley Legal, 57 Strokes, Big Stick, etc. And these are some of the tamer ones...

Plus it's named for a river in the state, the Two Hearted River in the U.P.

    Indeed!!

That’s probably why I made my “outdoorsy” statement.

Reading Hemingway while drinking a Two-Hearted on the banks of the Two-Hearted River is a tick-list kinda thing for a life-long Michigander that loves good beer and the wilderness.....

In NYC, neither, surely. Upstate, Gennessee is pretty popular, however - and Brooklyn Lager is far less likely to be found on tap. New York might be one of those places where the dichotomy between the city and the rest of the state makes it pretty hard to find one beer that represents the whole.

Among craft beer nerds, I would suggest Grey Sail's Captain's Daughter. (Two Roads is in CT.) If you're looking at mass market, I agree with 'Gansett. Whether or not it is brewed in RI, the tie is inseparable.
