Come on Andrew, you know they're all the same beer but with different names. Now I just close my eyes and point at the board and wherever my finger lands thats what I fill.....cuz ya know, they're all the same.

    Cheers,

lol, what do you honestly think bud? all beers are the same just with different names or are they different beers all together. I honestly don't think they are the same beers, but many say they are.

Ummm, I think my attempt to dispel this crazy notion somehow was missed ?

Well...I guess yes and no! Haha! This was my second time visiting Monkish, so I can tell that their hazies have their own "Monkish" style to them...but each has their own different nuance/flavor/characteristic to it.

L.A. Hat had their (Monkish) classic tropical hoppy aromatics to it. Taste follows the nose with a grapefruit/citrus bite on the swallow.

TDT had a tropical hoppy dankness for the aromatics. Taste follows closely with a citrus (more lemony) bitter bite on the swallow.

Game of Chess had a tropical hoppiness with slight sweetness on nose. Taste follows closely with low bitterness.

Vietnam, CA had a prominent, sweet tropical hoppiness on the nose. Which, because of the low IBUs, finishes with a sweet citrus swallow.

And lastly, Honeycomb Hideout (My favorite of the 5) had a fantastically fragrant and sweet tropical hoppy nose. Taste follows with a creaminess and faint sugary sweetness that makes this have a great feel to it.

So, yes, some of them have some common characteristics, but they all had their subtle differences as well!

And sorry for the long message, but you asked! LOL!:stuck_out_tongue:

Was this aiding and abetting the long con for today's April Fool's post?

People were skeptical when they said they'd be releasing their first-ever IPA, albeit hazy, a few years ago. And that one was released ON April Fool's day, IIRC.

This was one of only a couple IPA/DIPAs I drank at Monkish 7 and loved it. Thank you to my boy @ OH for the 4 pack. Tastes amazing with a few weeks on it, that Idaho 7 is showing big time.

    Cheers,

I welcome this back. Always one of my favorite Monkish beers, a real hybrid, juicy but with a nice pop of hoppy bitterness and a very cool long bone dry citrus pith finish.

IMO this is more of a traditional WCIPA than Blind Pug was. Really crisp hoppy and dry. Scary crushable at 8.8%. Keep em coming !

Someone had to do it ! Even at hours young you can taste the potential this has. Big hop bomb, great Nelson/Simcoe notes and the aromatics are huge. See ya in a week or two. On another note today was Eric's last day at Monkish, he will be missed by many, Green Cheek is getting one of the best people the local beer community has.

    Cheers,

Easily one of my favorite beers they make. Not sure how I feel about the label re-design, though

Jutuex sale seem weird for anyone else? How many bottles were sold in the pre pre (if they still do that)?

People carted and bought all bottles in less than a minute? Didn’t even go to temporarily unavailable.

I bought mine in less than ten seconds. Just got lucky, I guess.

Revisiting after a week in the fridge and this is really coming together nicely. Big tropical fruit's at this stage along side those lovely Nelson traits. It has really softened up as well, the sharp green edges are long gone, replaced by a building soft creamy body. Crack one if ya got em.
