Mind blowing amazing this year as usual. Aromas and flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, molasses, fudge, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, marshmallow cream, biscuit, dark bread, and roasted nuts; with lighter notes of licorice, cherry, raisin, fig, date, coconut, and smoke. Light roasted bitterness and bourbon/oak tannin spice on the finish. Super full bodied and light-medium carbonation; very creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel. Slight chalky roast and oak tannins, minimal dryness. Dangerously smooth. Mildly warming 13.4%. No barrel booze in aromas or flavors. This definitely takes the base beer up in complexity, which is still a world class RIS on it's own. Same huge, rich, and complex malt body; with added perfect barrel integration across the board. Also far less bitter, hardly any charcoal/earthy hop notes going on. Way smoother/silky on body from barrel aging. One of the best beers I've ever had.

Dogdish Head Raison D’Extra, 15% ABV. Pours cloudy dark brown with a half finger off-white head. Nose is malt and dark fruit. Taste is brown sugar and raisin, slightly sweet and moderately bitter. Flavor improved quite a bit as it reached room temperature. Excellent mouthfeel. Overall excellent, though to me taste is only slightly better than plain Raison D’Etre, though it is almost twice as strong.

This is amazing. Cloudy pour with lasting thick lacing/head retention the whole glass. Aromas and flavors of huge red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, white bread dough, light honeyed malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, not overly aggressive, minimal warming 8.5%. Amazing Magnum, Nugget, Centennial, Simcoe, Citra, & Azacca profile. Super juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy balanced hops complexity; with a great balancing bready malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. There is zero reason for them to release a 3.0 Ruination, even though they had planned on it last year. I need to buy this more often. I like it more than the original Ruination. This has everything you would want between classic/modern hop complexity.

Good day BAs! Today's New Breakfast Beer and cross-post with NBS:

    – A decent APA in which, at nearly two months old, the galaxy and citra hops are beginning to fade. I think at this age both regular PseudoSue and Pipeworks’ Lizard King are better tasting APAs.

Awesome Brut IPA. Nice fluffy head retention/spotty foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew, watermelon, red apple, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, onion, mint, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, white bread, light toast/biscuit/dough malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and some resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing lingering resin dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, not overly aggressive, pretty refreshing, minimal warming 7%. Awesome Calypso, Citra, Amarillo, Simcoe profile. Extremely vibrant, dank, earthy, and fairly juicy hop complexity; with a nice clean pils malt backbone. Zero residual sweetness with crisp resin dryness. Nailed the style as expected. Would get another 4 pack eventually if available.

Incredible NEDIPA. Lasting rocky head retention/thick soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, licorice, citrus peel/zest, wood, and light peppercorn/pine hops; with moderate cracker, biscuit dough, light honeyed malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Mild pine, citrus pee/zest, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy, silky, bready oats, light sticky hops, and minimal lingering resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Super smooth/soft, minimal warming 8.8%. Amazing Ella, Citra, Mosaic profile. Extremely juicy, vibrant, and lightly dank/earthy hops; with a perfectly balanced bready oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering bitter dryness. Definitely the best beer from them so far. Will be revisiting the rest of the lot soon, just got them in MI last month.

Awesome batch this year as always. Lasting head retention/thick lacing the whole glass. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light peppercorn, and pine hops; with balanced caramel, toasted bread malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced creamy/bready malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Amazingly drinkable. Super juicy and fairly dank/earthy Chinook, Centennial, Cascade hops; perfect bready malt balance, not overly sweet/heavy feeling from lingering resin dryness. I love C hops all year, the fresh hops are very obvious with the herbal/spicy quality going on. I keep grabbing more singles, this holds up amazingly over many months.
