I commented on their post alluding to this, but I don't think the place can support 4,000 people showing up...

A comment in the latest IG post said brewery should be open in 2-3 weeks, depending on when the beer is ready.

Wasn’t a family member bottle but they sent us a link to purchase them in advance of the public sale. If any family member wanted it, they likely got it.

Checked out 3 Sons for the first time this weekend. Nice place, enjoyed the beer and the food. One thing that I thought was weird was that bottles were for on sight consumption only. I thought they had sold bottles of Lumberjack and Hug Hug Kiss Kiss to club members and the public. Did something happen between the bottle releases and now, or are they just keeping those on site and selling at a jacked up price? Lumberjack was $35, Hug was $40, and they had another bottle for $45.

On site only bottle lists are very common among popular breweries. It allows many people to try the harder to get beers. Those beers are sell for significantly more on the secondary market.

Yeah they sold out of the allotments they reserved for membership and public.

If they didn't....you wouldn't be having any

Lumberjack for 35$ sounds not bad. AC sells their beers onsite for 80$ lol.

makes sense, and thinking back when I went to Cigar City I did see they have bottles on their cellar list. I just don't remember seeing most of the South FL breweries doing it from memory. It's not so bad to get and split with a few people to try. my buddy and I were lucky enough to try Lumberjack from a friendly patron at the bar, very tasty. Will be on the look out for future bottle releases.

It can cause sticker shock when you see the price at times but I love this practice. That way when i travel to a famous/trendy brewery i can actually try some of their harder to get beers. It's a little easier on the wallet if you go with a few folks and split costs as you mentioned.

Does anyone know when Vanilla Face is dropping and/or if it's just gonna be for members? I've heard that's going to be the next release

I’ve got to say hug hug kiss kiss was pretty disappointing to me. Just not what I’ve grown to expect from a 3 sons stout. Didn’t have the mouthfeel, flavor I would have expected. I’d have sworn it was just an average ccb ba cacao stout if I didn’t know. I’ve always been so blown away by everything I tried from them. Hopefully not the new norm. I heard lumberjack was better but haven’t tried that one.

I didn’t love hug hug out of the bottle either, lumberjack is phenomenal though

This place is overrated. Was excited to hear they were opening near me, but found there selection to be underwhelming. In recent weeks they have released a non adjunct stout for $40 & a BA crowler ( while very limited ) for $45. Just ridiculous & has just pushed me away.

I mean 45 for the 32 oz crowler is 31 for a 22oz bottle which isn’t terrible. The voodoo collab was extremely limited so that price made sense. I haven’t been impressed with the stuff I’ve had from them so far but the pricing is par for the course

Price per ounce that crowler is cheaper than the member bottles. Beer in general has gotten out of hand price wise, especially in Florida.

While I do love what Corey has done in the tap room I have to question this drive for the $2 barrel aged ounce of liquids price that's making its way in the craft world...

Agree on prices getting out of hand, but it’s not a 3 sons problems. It’s a craft beer as whole problem. I was bummed that I’ll be at forager a week after their festival and wouldn’t have a chance at bottles then saw the bottle I was bummed about missing is $50 each anyway.

The thing is they don’t have any problem selling out of inventory at these prices so why sell for less? I’ve spent the last year or so just throwing money at $35 bottles, but I’m definitely gonna slow that down.
