I was searching for a one-stop-shop for everything Homebrew Con in this forum & couldn't find it. Maybe this will be it.

I’m coming from Central Mass. Will be my second NHC (I went to Philly a few years ago). Brewing two beers for the competition. Should be an awesome time. Our club will be pouring at club night so want to brew something fun for that, too.

That's great bro! I'm not part of a homebrew club as currently constituted; coming from the South Shore, so I might have to join one prior to.

I plan to go, as does my Homebrew club. We are trying to be one of the ones allowed to have a trailer there.

Dave, will your club be participating (pouring beer) on club night?

Is this the year where you will be dressed up as a Super Trooper?

    Cheers!

Hahaha...hoping I get to be Rabbit. Not sure about pouring on club night...haven't heard a consensus yet on it. But guessing it will be discussed in the next meeting though.

I'm planning to head to my first Homebrew con from Rochester NY. Any tips for a first timer? Where is everyone staying? I know nothing About Providence but I'm looking to stay somewhere with either easy access to the Omni/Dunkin donuts arena or a walkable safe neighborhood with lots going on and a short Uber ride to the venues. Thanks in advance!

Have never been my self but clubmates that went last year said to bring plenty of cargo room. Tons of free samples, and on the last day venders are almost giving stuff away...

I did manage to get the days off, and have booked a room at the Hilton hotel which is right next to the dunkin arena. The hotels they list are within walking distance and the few that aren't offer shuttles. My homebrew club got a house on AirBnB but I missed the boat on that, but they are on the outskirts of Providence, and I fear what their Uber rates will be during a Con like this.

Hope to see many of you guys there, even if we never know it.

That crossed my mind. We need trucker hats with our handles across the front. We’d know who to say hi to, who to avoid

Yeah, stayed pretty far out of town for Grand Rapids homebrew con and that wasn't cool. Definitely try to be within striking distance...a short walk (like 10-15 minutes) I actually do like. Don't know Providence so can't provide details, but I'm currently awaiting my media credentials approval before booking my hotel, so will hopefully be looking into it soon.

Bump for any suggestions from people familiar with providence. Is federal hill a good area to stay? Doable to the convention center?

Credentials approved yesterday! Was kinda surprised by the price tag of the hotels downtown...bit more than expected. Gotta choose something soon.

Lodging is definitely pricey. I got an Airbnb with full kitchen and off st parking near federal hill about a 10 min walk to the convention center for a little over $100/night. Even the rentals were more than I anticipated

Federal Hill is mostly shops and restaurants and once you get off the main strip it's all rental apartments. It is definitely within walking distance, 10-15 minutes, to the Convention Center.

For people thinking about going, did anyone else get news from the NHC that makes their going more exciting? My American Brown took first in Boston. Anyone else get good news?

Additionally, two other club members placed with a beer.
