This is amazing as expected. Dense pour, awesome head retention/thick soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, chile pepper, molasses, roasted nuts, and toasted dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of smoke, charcoal, raisin, cherry, licorice, anise, tobacco, and herbal spice earthiness. Mild roast/char bitterness and pepper spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, bready malts; light slickness, sticky hops/spice, and chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing roast/char and spicy pepper dryness; no acrid/astringent flavors. Minimal pepper heat builds through the glass. Dangerously smooth sipper, minimal warming 13%. Rich and well rounded imperial stout complexity, with perfect spice, and fruity/nutty coffee balance. This feels a bit thicker and less bitter/drying than the Evil Twin brewed version in the can, but otherwise was just as impressive.

Haven't had this in about 5 years, glad they can date finally. This was very nice. Great rocky head retention/thick soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big pineapple, tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, passion fruit, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, white bread dough, light honeyed malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, woody, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; balanced creamy/bready malts, sticky hops, and some resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, not aggressive, minimal warming 8.2%. Great Nelson showcase as expected. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice balanced bready malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Overall score didn't change. I'd buy again. 3.9

Amazing as usual. Flavors of huge red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, green pepper, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, biscuit, light honeyed malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced bready/grainy malt and sticky/resinous hops in the mouthfeel. Crisp/drying finish and never astringent on bitterness. Amazing juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy balanced hop profile; with a clean pale malt backbone. Refreshingly drinkable for an IPA even at 7.7%. Mosaic and Equinox hops are my favorite of all time. They have been changing around the hops every year; but as long as those two stay, I don't care much. Still have a pack left, but holding up perfectly well for 6 months old. Got some Waldo's this week also.

Amazing as usual. Flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty dark roast coffee, molasses, caramel, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, and dark bread; with lighter notes of dark fruit, smoke, and charcoal. Balanced roast/char bittersweet and bourbon/oak spicy finish. Medium carbonation and full bodied; awesome creamy, silky, velvety, and lightly slick mouthfeel; with some lightly drying chalky roast and bourbon/oak tannins after the finish. Mildly increasing warming finish, minimal boozy barrel notes. Very smooth sipper. Fantastic barrel integration/balance with the fruity/nutty coffee and rich malts; without being overly boozy on the barrels. More recent batches did not seem to need as much added age to mellow from the barrel booze aspect when fresher, vs previous years. Plus, the last 2 years higher ABV made them even richer. Still on the shelf in many places from last year, still haven't seen the pretzel one yet.
