NBO : SLOPPY SECONDS

Hey just seeing this. I feel like a little context should be added. I knew I was going to be in japan for business and had to pick a city to route my layover through. Ive never had a bad ipa from Other Half, and I saw New York was an option, but knew I’d be flying on a Thursday when other half doesn’t usually release.

I reached out to azi wondering how long their brews usually stick around and whether it would be worth it for me to try stopping by. Azi volunteered to proxy for me and for the next month I got the pick of the litter for releases... a truly generous and utterly altruistic act.

I just wanted to set that straight, as Azi was the real champ here. Dude was waiting on the side of fifth avenue for 15 minutes waiting for me to crawl my way through Manhattan traffic. Loon was the least I could do.

Btw here’s my haul from Azi, plus a couple stouts not in this pic:


11 four packs, plus a 16x12x12 box from Home Depot, plus minimal wrapping weighed exactly 50 lbs (the weight limited for checked bags at United). No cans lost. I was wondering about this strategy but it worked like a charm.

The soda robot does well at filling wish list items!

First bottle I pull out was Sump, and I knew he got me. A long long time wish list item. (This will only be my second from Perennial)

Then comes Society & Solitude #4. (Which will be my first Hill Farmstead IPA and it’s another wish list item)

Then King Sue. Which has long eluded me... I can’t wait to finally have the showdown.

& the likes of Torque Wrench (have only had Wrench and enjoyed it)

& tangerine double ipa (untitled Art w/ Southern Grist, which will be my first with anything from SG)

& lastly, Barrel Culture - This is a Story IPA (which will be my first from a brewery I’ve heard great things about)

William, you got me! But mark my words, there will be a time when I get you!

Haha thank God I've been sweating that box was in the wind for like 9 days

 

It was perfect timing on my end. Because I caught it before it cracked my porch. I just happened to be standing up looking out the front window when the mail carrier got here. Then I saw him get out with two packages... one target, one usps. I asked my wife what else she had coming besides target and she said nothing what are you talking about?

That’s when I knew...

I said “you’ve got to be kidding me, this can’t be really happening. These fuckers”

Haha.

 

The first day you talked about being safe was the original post date just glad it's safe was in Indianapolis for like 7 days

I'm still the happiest that I was able to get space diamonds. Its the brew that made me really like OH

 

So. I mentioned I've yet to try an Aslin. And of course, that has consequences. Those consequences also seem to come with candy.

Once I saw this, I knew @Joplamp was the person behind it all.

York Peppermint Patties (a favorite of mine, and I think these are also thins. Both will do superbly in the freezer)

Haha I can’t help myself (plus I work for a big candy company). Whenever I’m drinking good stouts, I love chocolate. When I have a good sour, the fruit candy is around. I’m all about the pairings.
