    Have a nice Sunday BA.

Incredible as usual this year. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate honey, white bread, light caramel malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, medium-full bodied, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter resin/rind dryness, no hop astringency. Amazing classic Columbus, Chinook, Centennial, Amarillo, Simcoe profile. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; with a great balanced malt backbone. Not overly sweet or bitter, extremely well balanced. Lightly boozy alcohol, but dangerously easy drinking. Never disappoints. Feels less sweet than last year. Also a lot easier to find when released.

Fantastic batch this year! Aromas and flavors of huge raisin, plum, fig, date, peach, pear, apricot, red apple, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, biscuit, and brown bread/crust; with light notes of molasses, milk chocolate, cocoa, oak char, leather, tobacco, peppercorn, and yeast earthiness. A bit of booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Light herbal, grassy, peppery hop bitterness; and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, rich malts; light slickness, sticky hops, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/tannic dryness, no cloying/astringency. Dangerously smooth sipping, mild increasing warmth of 13.1%, minimal lingering barrel booze. Perfect balance of super rich malts, fruity yeast, and bourbon barrel presence/integration. Not overly boozy, tannic, or drying on the barrels. Already grabbed plenty more, a real shelf beer this time around. Super easy to find. English Barleywines are my favorite style.

    Good Morning BA

I'm up getting breakfast started on this beautiful Sunday morning. Bacon is cooking, pancake batter is resting and Astral Weeks is playing in the background

Amazing NEIPA as always. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, pineapple, peach, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, gooseberry, lemon zest, orange peel, and light pepper/pine hops; with balanced honey, wheat, toasted bread, light caramel malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy, silky, bready malt mouthfeel; light sticky hops and slight resins. Slightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, never astringent. Super smooth/soft, 7%. Used to be Boxer, but some legal crap made them change the name. I slightly prefer it over M43. More malty from the Vienna/Munich malts; and also prefer the hop profile more because of Equinox/Mosaic additions. Old Nation is making the best NEIPAs in the state. Always have them in the fridge now.

Fantastic Russian imperial stout. Amazing lasting head retention and thick soapy lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, dark bread/crust, toasted biscuit, roasted nuts, smoke, charcoal, raisin, fig, date, herbal, grass, pepper, pine, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate pine, herbal, woody, grassy, peppery hop; and roast/charcoal bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and full body; balanced creamy/silky/bready malts, sticky hops, and chalky char/roast in mouthfeel. Lightly increasing hop/char dryness; never acrid or astringent. Super smooth, minimal warming 9.9%. Picked up a 4 pack from 2017 off the shelf a couple weeks ago. Would definitely get more. Nails the style perfectly. Extremely rich and complex malts, restrained fruity yeast, with great earthy hop presence/balance against sweetness.

I am having Cantillon Saint Lamvinus, a high end Belgian Fruit Lambic brewed with merlot and cabernet grapes and aged in Bordeaux barrels, ABV 5.00%. This is indeed a great Belgian Lambic. The flavor and aroma is grapes, cherry, maybe some grapefruit, oak, some nice yeast-funkiness. It has a long and pleasant after taste of tart grapes and cherries. It's creamy and soft despite being tart, softly tart, and it really fills your mouth and nose. It might be the best Lambic I've ever had, but it certainly wasn't easy to get in the states.

Mrs. Z and I, after a grueling day of waterfront condo shopping yesterday, binge watched all 10 episodes of GOT season 6, then watched S7E1...went to bed at 3:30am...

Late start after walking the dogs ... in my glass now is CW’s Rum Barrel Coconut Porter (2019):

Maybe there’s some nuanced Hop and/or Roast bitterness that wasn’t present before, but it still tastes more boozy rum & coke than a pina colada, to me. And I like boozy so this beer is going down quickly whether I’m getting much coconut or not - Thanks @Number1Framer for this sweet tooth treat!

Sleep deprived, with coolers full of beer...I wonder if I can stay upright and prescient through today/tonight’s new beers and GOT excess...if only there were some form of mortal Demi-god of beer (bourbon and cheap wine) to humble myself before and seek Devine ale guidance ...

    Cheers y’all!

Clear light gold color with white cap and lacing.

Pleasant, sharp aroma of citrus hops with some tropical touches of mango, pineapple and bitter orange zest. I don't know if orange is classed as a tropical fruit but that's what I'm getting.

Taste is hop forward with a burst of bright citrus followed by the same fruit elements I found in the scent. Malt is running along with the rest but it's way back in the pack. I do get occasional flashes of honey malt but they go as quickly as they come. Quickly covered up by hops I suspect. In total simple flavors that don't clash and work together in a cooperative sort of way.
