For something that wouldn't require a trip overseas, I'd probably say FFF alpha king. I can get it in Ohio, but that's about a 2 hit round trip for me. I grab it whenever I get a chance, but I won't make the trip just for the beer.

I have had Pliny 2x on separate occasions at the Santa Rosa facility. To me it is OK just not special. I view Bell's Two Hearted the same way.

    Now I will duck !

Of the beers I've had before, I'd go Focal Banger at this point.

I actually don't think I have a strong opinion for "most wanted" beer I haven't had before, but would be curious to try that others have mentioned that fit the bill.

I've always found the hop character of ZD to be bright and intense. I love the bitterness that clings to the palate and the unobtrusive malt presence. It never fails to disappoint, and the fact that it comes in my favorite format (12-ounce bottles) is a huge bonus. If I could get this locally, I'd keep a fridge full of the stuff.

I usually pick up an 8-pack of Little Kings for old times' sake whenever I'm back in Ohio. (Too bad that winging the empties at road signs just doesn't seem like as much fun these days :slight_frown::stuck_out_tongue:.)

    I have 2 categories. A beer I've had, and a beer I've wanted.
Tasted: Upper Pass - First Drop. Made a trip up to NY last November, and grabbed a 4pack. I gave away 2 of them to beer buds back home...and regretted it. Something about FD really flipped my switch. A deals a deal though.

Wanted: Heist - Citraquench'l. I was at the brewery over a year ago, and unfortunately they were in between cannings. Haven't had the opportunity since. Heist is the brewery that got my wife and I into NEIPA style beers, and Citraquench'l was talked about so highly, I just wanted to give it a go.

Totally agree. I had a friend out in California for a work trip bring me back 2 bottles. Maybe my expectations were set to high, but I was underwhelmed. I'm no saying it wasn't good, just that I expected more based on years of reading about how great it is.

That being said, I would definitely grab it again if I had the chance.

I'm speaking from the platform of my own palate as is everyone else. You aren't saying anything that I don't already know. I had an opinion others will differ, simple.

Zombie Dust is a shell of what it once was. Not sure if it's increased production size or the fact that it's probably being contract brewed by Wisconsin Brewing co.
Hopefully when the new brewery is done this will get dialed in again.

@guinness77 picked some beers that he hasn't had before. My choices above are safer in that I've had them before... but I'm feeling like I should try to also pick a beer in the new-to-me category for kicks.

If the National Brewery Centre in Burton upon Trent still brews a version of Bass No. 1, then I'll go with that (even though the thought of it coming here is purely fantasy). If that beer is no longer brewed, I guess I'll go with J.W. Lees Manchester Pale Ale. I'm leaving the umlauts firmly behind with this pair.
