Canbif, Spring 2019!

Most of my info is in my profile. I try to keep my hads/ticks/reviews up to date but I've slipped significantly in the last 2 years or so. Well made Lagers, things 'to style' and HUGE stouts are my jam these days.

I'm sending West of me to a flat space with many towns/cities that rank on my least favourite in the country. Nice place though!

 

Hint 2:
My target has sampled an impressive array of beer. I have done my reconnaissance and hope I’ve gathered a few of the best things available in my part of the Woods. Prairie. Technically it’s Parkland, which is a mix of deciduous forest and plains. But I digress. 7.5 L should be heading east by Sunday. It will be heading to the city that has been renamed at least once.

Hint 1:
My target is east of me, in a city I have not visited. I have sent a few boxes to this province, however. Your box will contain mostly Alberta beer, with a couple of west coast selections thrown in.

 

Last last hint:
Your package has been available for pickup since yesterday. Hopefully you get a chance to get it today. It is an 8-minute walk from your house.

 

Well....this very well could be me! My porch had a big crater in it on Thursday but, alas, only a pickup slip was left in the hole.

Unfortunately, my post office is “closed due to illness” today and this was my only day off for two weeks. Double dinger, my post office closes at 6 on weekdays and I work till 7. I’ll try to find a few minutes to sneak away from work this week, but it may take a while for me to get the reward.

 

Oh no! All my worst fears! I'm glad you are at least in town. Hopefully it works out soon.

 

FWIW, That right there is mega-creepy.

Dropped off my target's box this morning. Approximately 8 L of East Coast variety which I hope you enjoy. CP indicates an expected delivery date of May 2, 2019 but my hope is you get it before the weekend!

For my final hint:

The box will be landing approximately 1.9 km from one of my favourite Canadian breweries. This brewery is well known and you've certainly tried a significant number (50+) of their offerings.

 

Here I go again, late to the thread. The very dedicated and generous organizer of CANBIF knows this all too well.

If my senders have not shipped, and if it helps the beer selection... I like pretty well any well made beer. I'm a stickler for the BJCP style guide and classic styles. I do like barrel-aged sours, wild ales, barley wines and some stouts. But I'm picky as hell and critical of almost anything (so I'm told). Actually, not that critical (I give most beers 3-4 on Untappd). I loathe hazy alcoholic beverages (an IPA without bitterness is not an IPA) as well as any beer than has lactose added. Basically, a hop powder beer with lactose is my kryptonite.

I completely dropped the ball on posting here, so I'll just say I'm looking forward to getting whatever I'm getting. I like beer, and presumably nobody is here to put in the effort to mail bad beer (minus the occasional one that's so bad you just have to try it), so I'm not too worried. To my recipient, I believe we've exchanged before, so see the above approach and expect that haha.

 

A 31lb box of East Coast liquid awesome is headed west and has about 1500km to travel to a man of few words but of many beers. (3000+)

 

Got my Canada Post notice, but unfortunately I can't pick it up until tomorrow.
