Have a nice Sunday BA. I have a trade box to pack and some other stuff today.

Amazing. Flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, toffee, vanilla, cream, bourbon, toasted oak, roasted nuts, biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of coconut, licorice, raisin, prune, fig, date, smoke, char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Similar aromas, slight booze as it warms. Mild herbal, roast, char bitterness; and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and full body; amazingly creamy, silky, velvety, rich malts; light slickness, sticky hops, chalky roast, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing bitter/tannic dryness; no cloying, acrid, astringency. Dangerously smooth, mild increasing warmth of 12.8%, minimal lingering barrel booze. They nailed this as expected. Way more mellowed out on the bitter hop/char character than the base beer from barrel aging. Insanely rich malt complexity, with perfect barrel presence/integration. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. BA Expo is still the best, but this is world class tier for RIS. Looking forward to the base coming back this year, but I still have some older ones in the cellar.

I thought my morning beer would be for NBS but alas I’ve had it before - Dragon’s Milk Reserve Orange Chocolate:

Poured at 57 degrees. Lots of orange nose and taste. Some chocolate. No bourbon. Thin like drinking an orange soda pop, just not as carbonated. Happy with the orange; wish it had more chocolate and more barrel. Still an awesome flavored Imperial (11%) Stout ...I’d gladly drink again. 4.0

Cheers and have a great Sunday y’all!

Awesome fruited NEIPA. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honeyed malts; and herbal, floral, grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, woody, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness; and citrus tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; creamy/bready malts, some sticky hop, and light fruit tang/acids in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering tart/bitter dryness; no hop/fruit astringency. Very smooth/soft, not warmth of 5.5%. Awesome Mosaic showcase. Super juicy/vibrant hops/citrus, with some dank/earthy notes; and a great balanced wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness from lingering bitter dryness. Will buy again for sure.

Amazing as usual this year. Aromas and flavors of huge mango, honeydew melon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate honey, white bread dough, spicy rye malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hops earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied with balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts and sticky/resin/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin/rind dryness, no hop astringency. Minimal warming ABV, dangerously smooth. Insane dankness across the board. This is basically just imperial Born Yesterday IMO, very similar if not the same hops. Ekuanot, Galaxy, Simcoe, and Mosaic was the first batch, probably similar here. This has all of the same dankness at a much higher ABV, while remaining well attenuated and not overly sweet for over 11.7%. Mosaic and Ekuanot are my favorite hops. Got 2 packs immediately. Still have some Born Yesterday to finish off.

Prairie pastry stout. This was fantastic. Dense oil pour, great head retention/spotty soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, frosting, marshmallow, fudge, brownie batter, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread; with light notes of coffee, roasted nuts, molasses, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. A bit too fruity/yeasty aromas, but not overwhelming. Mild herbal, grassy, roasted bitterness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, bready, rich malts; slight slickness, sticky hops, and chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing lingering hop/roasted dryness, no cloying sweetness. Super smooth/soft, minimal warming 11%. Amazing balance of super rich malts, and brownie flavorings; with just enough earthy hops to balance sweetness. Amazing for a dessert stout as expected. Tastes like brownies spot on.

Fantastic pale ale. Glad this is back in season. Lasting thick head retention/lacing the whole glass. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine hops; with moderate caramel, brown sugar, and toasted biscuit malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced hop stickiness and bready Munich malt creaminess in the mouthfeel. Light lingering resins/rinds. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Absolutely love the balance and the juiciness of the Cascade/Centennial hops, in combination with the bready crystal/Munich malt bill. Deschutes rarely disappoints. One of my many favorites from them. Would love to have this year round.
