Damn...how I missed thee, Oberon. Tasting great this year as always. Honey, white bread, orange juice, banana, and clove. Creamy texture from boatloads of wheat.
One of my favorite seasonal releases that I always look forward to.

 

Thanks for the heads up, Cigar City just came into Indiana and I'd been looking for that. Maybe won't look so hard now.

One of my favorite songs from my favorite Fleetwood Mac album Future Games. This was before the Stevie Nicks/Lindsey Buckingham takeover. Dan Kirwan (RIP) on guitar, always loved his playing. And Christine McVie blows Stevie Nicks away ...

Transient BBA imperial milk stout. 2 YO bottling. This was amazing! Dense black pour. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, marshmallow, fudge, brownie batter, coconut, bourbon, toasted oak, and dark bread; with light notes of coffee, licorice, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. A touch too fruity/yeasty aromas. Mild herbal, grassy, roasted bitterness; and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and very full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, bready, rich malts/lactose; light slickness, sticky hops, chalky roast, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/tannic dryness; zero cloying sweetness. Dangerously smooth/soft. Mild increasing warmth of 11%, zero lingering barrel booze. Perfectly balanced rich malts, lactose, and vanilla flavor complexity; with great bourbon barrel presence/integration. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Maybe age improved it, I don't know. It's top tier for the style as it stands now. 4.38

One problem though, I really don't like beets at all. If I would have known, I wouldn't have gotten this beer.

Oh, well, now I have to decide what I'm going to drink, because I had to dump it.

 

Back to basics ....



This is another one of my favorite Fleetwood Mac tunes. This was from the Bob Welch era, he took over after Dan Kirwan left the band, totally different style but still that dreamy sound that I loved.



And my favorite tune from that album, Miles Away. Bob Welch plays a great solo in this tune. "Don Juan goes up in a cloud of smoke ... "



And funky Fleetwood Mac from Bare Trees which still featured Dan Kirwan, another great album.

How are ya my friend ? I "insist" you drink decent wine irregardless of the price point. You have an image to uphold or maybe improve. Me, I am too old and nobody really cares.

Remember if the wine is not up to caliber there is always whiskey, or back to beer !
