    Same here. I got a person actually adding up the total ounces! Had to explain the BC bottles were 16 oz and not 22 oz bomber as they said I am over the allowed amount. In the next line over my buddies all walked thru without opening their bags.

    I'm pretty sure @Zoomslowik realizes that, but @eppie82 has mentioned that the rest of his crew are DLD first-timers, so it will be a lot of newbies attempting to make it through 13 hours of DLD. That is a tall task.

    As others have said, it certainly can be done, and I'm sure @eppie82 will do his best to ensure no casualties (I think???). But, as much as everyone says things like "drink water all day" and "take small pours" and "make sure you eat food"...we all know how easy it is for all those thoughts to get completely shoved from your brain and you go into full-on DLD mode. I am looking forward to seeing in person how some of them make it through the day.

    I know others have asked about multiple wristbands but I don't feel like going through 34 pages to find the right info...

    I'll find out Saturday morning if my friend can join me and use my extra ticket I purchased. If he doesn't, I'm not sure I'm going to be able to find someone else.

    If that happens and I want to go get my second allotment, will it register when they scan it even if it wasn't "scanned in" at the entrance to the fest?

    Yeah, scanning on entry doesn't seem to do anything except verify it was a valid ticket. I had a spare last year from someone, who at the last minute could not attend, and swapped them in the fest and went through the allotment line again.

    Cool. That was my only real fear. I can live with eating 180 bucks if I get a second allotment.

    Ultimately, we will see how it goes. I'm going to be the general and prepare these soldiers for the ensuing war(like) experience they will encounter. Having done it a few times, I'll be preparing for a multitude of scenarios.

    Everyone will have a friend finder app downloaded so that we can track each other during the fest should anyone get lost. Even if only one person is able to operate their phone, this will help. Everyone is getting laminated cards with my home address/base camp and a few phone numbers they can call (sober individuals). They can use this to get back via Uber/Lyft in case of an early tap out as well.

    We will be getting breakfast before getting to DLD. Everyone will be equipped with plenty of water bottles and everyone will be rinsing out their glass (and drinking the rinse water) between each pour). There will be a lunch break and a dinner break (each an hour, which we will stagger among us). Everyone knows not to take every single pour offered, and that splitting a pour/draft is also a good thing.

    There are other precautions and preparations we have in place. It will go as well as it can go, and I know everyone will have a great time.

    This is 1000% a real thing. The single most dangerously exciting state of mind achievable in this “hobby”.

    I will be luring individuals away from the pack. Hey! Aren’t you Eppie’s friend? Hey, try this Black Tuesday! I’ll give you a small pour. 5 oz. yeah, drink it fast! Also, eat this chocolate. Slight herbaceous flavor? How weird! Hey, let’s go pick a fight with that wolf-gang!

    forget the laminated cards, i'd write the name and address in permanent marker on everyone's chest.

    Initially I thought neck tatts, but I thought that was extreme.

    Interestingly enough, the worst 1st timer I've seen was actually @kdawgmoney in 2016 when I took him as my +1. He couldn't tie his shoe laces without falling over BEFORE the gates opened. I also spent half the fest carrying his allotment (God bless you, miracle tote bag), seeing as he fell over a few times. Was still a great time, and we have many stories from that day.

    I am still TBD in terms of my role with his crew. Nice guy that provides some good beers at a moderate pace and reminds them to drink water and just take a little of the beer? Or pouring them full pours of the biggest BA beers I have over and over? It'll be a game time decision. :grin:

    As @croush said, I am aware that @eppie82 is not a noob, but he had posted before that the rest of the group was. I wish him well, but I would expect a 50% success rate or lower. I went in with good intentions last year but hit a wall in the late afternoon. Then again, I am washed as a volume drinker.

    @eppie82 I'll do my best to fend off the evil @Quilentro nefarious intentions. Because we all know, the only way to stop a bad guy with a beer is with a good guy with a beer.

    EppieFriend1: “Thanks @flat_lander, I really needed this pedialyte. It’s a homebrew?

    @flat_lander: [nods and smiles]

    EF2: “this hits the spot! That @Quilentro guy is a jerk! I think he just gave me a flask of malört!”

    @flat_lander: [looks empathetic]

    EF1: “there’s a weird aftertaste to this electrolyte solution. Maybe my palate is busted from hops. What did you say the flavor was? ‘I O Wasca?’l”

    @flat_lander: [smiles, nods, adds a quiet correction] “people usually pronounce it ‘ayahuasca.’ Hey, look, the Flower Moon is rising! Any of you boys like to dance?”
